Turkey is one of my very favorite types of meat. For this reason, I like to make sure that I make it to perfection. I don't like fat so prefer it if my meat is not cooked in fat, does not sit in fat while cooking so a drain was one of the most important things that I wanted in a turkey fryer. The Masterbuilt 20010109 Butterball Professional Series Indoor Electric Turkey Fryer seemed to "fit my wants and needs" well enough so I bought one.

They are not extremely expensive at approximately $113.50, on sale. If you do some research you should be able to find one for around this price too.

This is an indoor turkey fryer that will fit a turkey up to 14 pounds much healthier and faster than a conventional oven. There is a digital timer on it and there is a light indicator that tells you when it is power ready - a red light for power on and a green light to indicate that it is temperature ready. There is also an adjustable thermostat control knob included. The lid folds away and has a window in it so that you can see the progress of the turkey that is cooking inside. What I like most is that the turkey sits in a basket with drains which means that the turkey does not sit in the fat while cooking - this is much healthier for you. There is also a drain valve which makes it easier to clean the cooker. The interior is made of stainless steel, the lid is porcelain-coated and it is fairly easy to clean. The size is 16 2/7 x 14 4/5 x 14 3/5 inches, and it weighs approximately 21 pounds. The purchase includes a 90-day limited warranty.

This turkey fryer is not limited to cooking turkeys. You can use the cooking basket to cook other foods such as doughnuts, French fries, onion rings, fish, chicken, and more.
Overall, I'm very impressed. It makes great turkey and other food in a fraction of the time that an oven will cook it. It is not huge so doesn't take up too much room when in use and packs away fairly easily. And it is very easy to clean - this is another important aspect to me as I dislike having to spend quality time cleaning up after a great meal.
