Kitchens today play an important role in today's living. Face it, you need a good kitchen in your home for excellent and quality cooking. What's more important is what you're cooking with. It doesn't matter if you're a home cooker or a professional chef. What you need is a great unit to cook on.

The KitchenAid KECD806R 30" Electric Cooktop may give you all your cooking needs. This unit features 4 burners, a power-on light, hot surface indicators, dual and triple ring, left rear burner output, 1,500 watts - right front burner, 1,200 watts. It also offers a variety of cooking options with both triple and dual elements - allowing you to use several different sizes of cookware on one element.

Electric vs. gas. There may be some gross argument about gas over electric. I'll discuss a few key points between the two. Electrical units have the ability to cook faster and burn a lot hotter than gas components. As far as flavor is concerned, electrical cooktops would be just as good as gas, if not better.

The problems with electrical units is that because of the high contrast in upward temperature, they've become somewhat of a fire danger. Gas on the other hand, is much safer, can burn just as hot, (as it was mentioned, it takes just a tad bit longer to get hot). I'm siding with neither of them. I believe both gas and electric are both prime sources of cooking. Today's time, I'm not really sure which one of them would be cheaper to maintain.

Perhaps having both would be an ideal idea.
