Kenmore French-Door Bottom Freezer Refrigerator Model 71022

Rating: 5 out of 5
  • Currently 5.0/5.0

The Kenmore French-Door Bottom Freezer Refrigerator Model 71022 is an excellent choice for the average family or an office breakroom. The refrigerator has a temperature control for the interior pantry and a water/ice dispenser on the front door. The water dispenser also has a water filter to keep the taste of water fresh.

Cleanup is easy and because of the design. You can fit about anything in this 25 cubic feet machine. The controls are digital and you can also store items at different temperatures in each of the trays. The humidity can also be controlled for vegetables in the crisper. You can also monitor the temperature via the digital display. Unfortunately, there is no alarm to tell you the temperature is rising or that the door is open.

The advantage of a French style design is that machine is wider, which means that you can store more inside. The doors are shorter which means less space is required to open and close the doors. The water/ice dispenser do not take up much space although there is a tendency for that to happen with other brands that mount the dispenser in the door.

The finish is white and not stainless steel, but who needs stainless steel? Stainless is harder to clean and cost more money. Cleaning the outside of this machine is a snap because of the durable white finish. The inside is easy to clean as well due to the spill proof shelves.

Another bonus of this machine is that it is energy star rated. This refrigerator will save money and the environment. Customer reviews on this product have been mixed. I personally have had no problems with Kenmore. The refrigerator costs about $1600 and comes with a one year limited warranty.

Pros
Water/ice dispenser with ice filter
Humidity controlled dispensers
Door bins that can hold large containers
Digital controls for temperature

Cons
No alarm for temperature or open doors
