John Deere 100 series 42"cut riding lawnmower LA105

Rating: 5 out of 5
  • Currently 5.0/5.0

The John Deere 100 series LA105 riding lawnmower is a very good riding lawnmower for the price. As one of the most economical lines John Deer carries in the riding mowers this model offers a 42 inch cut making mowing a city lot a quick chore. The LA105 starts easily when the engine is cold by using the choke position, as with any other riding lawnmower you must remember to have the engine running and the mower in motion before engaging the mower deck, otherwise you risk the backfiring the same goes for idling down, disengage the mower deck before coming to a complete stop. This lawnmower has always performed up to it standards for us, we cut our lawn which is about a quarter acre once a week during the growing season. After the first eight hours of use it is important and recommended by the manufacturer that the oil be changed and I would recommend the spark plugs be looked at as general maintenance. Other than the general maintenance we have had no need to have it in the shop. This model offers an array of attachments to make outdoor maintenance a breeze. We use the RX 75 bagging system to collect our grass clippings for composting. Over the winter we put on the front bumper guard and weight kit so we could run the snow blower attachment, of course we added the chains for the tires as well. The blower was used about 4 times over the winter and worked quite well, when it got really slippery (after a rain and re freeze) it became almost too wet to blow and very hard to obtain traction. The mower provides a clean cut to the grass and can mow at the highest speed on a smooth lawn without missing or cutting uneven. That's good enough for us!
