Five of us are currently using the HP CP2025dn printer on our office network. According to the documentation, it is capable of about a 40,000 monthly duty cycle, but it is recommended for 2,000 pages per month. We use about two reams of paper per week on an average, and many of those copies are printed front and back.

Much of our printing is text without graphics, so we do not use the color ink that much. The quality of the printing is very good as has been my experience with most HP printers. On the color prints, one user has been in charge of printing brochures for an advertising campaign. He isn't overly thrilled with the prints he has produced on this printer and prefers the Epson that he had before.

The machine was down one time the first six months it was in use, but it was repaired and it has worked for several months since then. The repairman said we were using it to about its maximum and that might have led to the problem.

According to the person in procurement, we go through toner cartridges pretty fast, especially the black ones. A set of four toners cost about $200, which is over half of the original printer cost of $374.00. Unfortunately, most all LaserJet printers do cost a great deal to operate.

Printing speeds aren't the fastest, but they are adequate. It takes about 20 seconds from the time the printer receives the job for the first page to print.

For the amount of work we produce on a printer, this one is probably not the one we should use, but it might be a better situation if we had two of them. This would probably be a good network printer for a business that didn't have a great volume on an ongoing basis.
