If you need air pollutant removed, I'd say you'd need an air purifier. Why not go with the Holmes HAP726-U True HEPA Allergen Remover Air Purifier? It's not very costly, it is around $90.00. That's pretty cheap to me. Just like many purifiers, it needs to run all the time, otherwise the overall effectiveness of the product goes down the tubes.
This product eliminates odor, dander, pollen, airborne bacteria, and dust. If you have real bad allergies, you should get an air purifier. The Holmes purifier can cover up to 256 sq. feet. Even a large room is no problem. The unit has a bit of noise to it.
Some people actually believe that air purifiers don't work. In all honesty, yes they do. Bear in mind - air purifiers aren't a waste of money. If I were to say, you have asthma, hypothetically - of course, you have purifiers, chances are (and by scientific research), your asthma would be reduced between 30-50%. Though these studies aren't absolute, any help with a condition like that might as well be a God-send.
I've never owned any products like this, though because of days like, stagnancy in the air, or getting a mass migraine. I may in fact buy one. If you have a smoker in the house, you need to get this product. Smoking is probably (next to mold), the worst case scenario for the air you breathe indoors. Cigarette smoke will create stains, everywhere.
When you buy an air purifier, make sure you know what you are getting. The price really isn't all that important. You need to make sure that the purifier can cover the allocated space. A top-of-the-line model isn't necessary. All that you really need is a substandard unit, that can run all the time. Other than that, you're set to go.
Have had the Holmes HAP726-U True HEPA Allergen Remover Air Purifier for quite some time now. Just started using it again after 3 years. There are two lights; one indicating "Carbonate" and the other light "Hepa" There is only one light on = Carbonate. Shouldn't both lights be lit? I just noticed this after cleaning the filters today. 10/19/2014 Is there anyone who knows about this Air Purifier. We moved and no longer have the instructions.
