My husband bought this refrigerator seven years ago as a replacement to the 20-year old refrigerator that came with the house. It was on sale, one of the cheapest ($850 plus) side by side refrigerators available and that is the reason why we chose this brand.
My Gibson refrigerator is spacious and I can arrange all my food the way I want because it has cantilever shelves which I can adjust anytime to match the height of the food I store especially juice and milk bottles. It has a large capacity crisper, big enough to store all my vegetables and fruits for 1 week. It has a dairy compartment and door shelves where I put all my condiments like mustard, mayonnaise, catsup, salad dressings etc. The meat keeper is temperature controlled.
The freezer has an ample space too with full width shelves, ice container, ice trays, frozen package racks and sliding wire basket. My freezer is well organized and I can find and get anything I want.
Within seven years my husband did three repairs on my refrigerator, First the refrigerator won't defrost properly after a year so he fixed it. Now it is completely frostless. On the third year, he changed the thermostat because the temperature is not cold enough and last year he put a new fan motor to move the cold air around from the freezer to refrigerator because it was burnt out.
The operation is noisy I can hear it running all the time from my kitchen to the living room. Bottom line, after the three repairs with my refrigerator, so far it's working fine but I'm thinking of replacing it in the near future because of the noise, it's irritating.
My husband always tells me, "You get what you paid for" with my Gibson refrigerator.
