I chose this dishwasher for my home kitchen because it was the look I wanted at a reasonable price. My old dishwasher, which had lasted for years and performed pretty well, was also a Frigidaire.
My new dishwasher is great looking, which is one of its best qualities. It matches the other stainless steel appliances. It's not as quiet as I was led to believe from the advertisements, but it's by no means noisy. When the water is entering the machine, it makes a strange sucking noise. I don't know if that's my plumbing or the machine, but I'm inclined to believe it's the dishwasher because the old machine never did that. However, during the majority of the cycle it is quite quiet.
The machine cleans dishes very well. I do some cooking, enough that there are pots and pans as well as regular dishes. There have only been a few times when a pot has needed more than one cycle to get clean. The dishes come out hot, dry, and clean, without puddles of grimy water resting on dipped surfaces, like with my old dishwasher.
The real problem with the dishwasher is the way the racks are designed. Though it says you can fit fourteen place settings, which would be easy as well as economical, I now wonder if they had designed it for doll dishes. The top rack has strange shaped divots, which are too wide to keep glasses from tipping over. It hardly matters, though, because it is also too shallow for my tall drinking glasses. Though it seems, when you look inside, that there is plenty of space, the spacing on the racks don't really accommodate plates and platters and cups and everything else at the same time. I'm frequently reduced to doing two cycles of dishes per meal in order to ensure everything will get clean.
