Ford Falcon XR6 2009

Rating: 5 out of 5
  • Currently 5.0/5.0

Although this car is built for performance rather then comfort, I still find it extremely comfortable, which makes me even happier with this car. On top of that we have had 4 people in for car trips for 10 hours at a time and everyone finds it a lot more comfortable then other cars we have done the trips in. So really, it doubles well as not only a leisure car but also a family car.

As a performance car, it is heavy on the road and the bumps are felt as normal, but the biggest difference being how quiet it is compared to cars of this type - not for rev heads that take the sound of performance cars into their buying decision. It is an extremely well built car, basic but perfect for what it is.

The petrol consumption isn't too bad, but not the best car for someone who is looking for a car that is cheap to run. The option to switch to manual is also convenient so different drivers can take their preference, or if the driver just feels like switching.

As for safety, the brakes are great - not too touchy, handling is great - I've never had issues with it and also taught Learner drivers how to drive with this car. I do trust this car also in the way of its safety rating and Australian cars built for Australian conditions.

I have previously owned an XR6, switched to Holden in between and after this when buying a new car I will definitely keep in this range.

The interior designs and features are good, standard of most cars in this price range. It has the screen and all the features to connect external music players. The controls are also on the steering wheel which makes it easier to do things like change songs etc. The outside looks great and the standard body kit is quite sporty.
