The Chefmate 1.7 cubic foot mini refrigerator is a well designed model perfect for use in college dorm rooms or small office spaces.

The square design of the model and hand grip on the door allows for superior ease of use accompanied by an intelligent use of space. This refrigerator is best used atop a counter or desk, and can easily accommodate food and beverages stored in full-size bottles, cans and cartons. Users will also love the generously sized storage area inside of the door, which nearly doubles the amount of available storage capacity of the appliance overall.

The refrigerator's construction is very durable and clearly intended for several years of constant use. One of the best features of this refrigerator is the inclusion of a small, albeit useful freezer compartment. Although it works very well for storing a few ice cream bars, the feature could be slightly improved in terms of future models if it were large enough to hold a frozen dinner. Although admittedly, given the size of this particular model, that might be difficult to realistically achieve.

Simple temperature adjustment adds to the usability of this refrigerator. A dialed numbering system allows the user to quickly alter the internal temperature. However, patience is required. From personal experience, the temperature that led to an ice cold drink was often the same temperature that resulted in a frozen carton of milk. This model also features quiet operation. For people who are light sleepers or otherwise disturbed by noise from appliances, this is a reliable solution.

Although there are many competing brands and models, the excellent ease of use and sturdy construction of this Chefmate refrigerator sets it apart. Overall, this is a fine choice for those looking for convenient cold food storage at a reasonable price.
