This was the ULTIMATE Christmas present! I received it with a photo scanner because I wanted to reprint a number of photos that I scanned onto the computer.

The quality of the prints is amazing. I am so pleased, I could not be happier with it! The scanner I will say is of excellent quality too but some of the photos came out looking better with the scan and reprint then the original!

It's a nice design, not too bulky so it looks nice in the home office. It was all pretty easy to put together, I think once you use a brand, it's just standard similarities for set-up and Canon printers are not difficult to work out.

It is very quiet compared to my old printer which was ok until printing a full page of colour and then it really made a difference. This is probably less then half as loud, which is nice. As for speed, any good quality home printer printing photos is going to be quite slow. It doesn't make much difference to me anyway because the end result is definitely worth it.

It has some things like auto photo fix. I already use the programs I am used to to touch up photos but for basic, straight from memory card printing, this is an excellent feature.

One disadvantage I think is there is no place to directly plug in the memory card. On my two older all-in-ones, there were places to plug in different sizes so you could just plug in and print.

In my opinion, the cost of running it is too much. My previous all-in-one canon photo printer had 6 ink cartridges but that 4 extra ink cartridges will get pricey after the amount I will be using it. I do realise that the cartridges are pigment-based rather then dye so it does mean professional printing quality but the cartridges themselves aren't any cheaper then the other and I do not think it's fair that someone who might not be able to afford the cost of running should miss out on a good product because the actual printer itself does not come cheap either.
- Just as an extra note, I haven't tested it yet but when I used to print notes for university the ink would always smudge if I highlighted, differences like these could be it, so on the other hand, you pay for what you get I suppose.
