I received this as a gift and I was happy when I saw that it was a 'Smoothie Mixer' because I like to make smoothies of all sorts. I do think that this is false in that its capability is more of a milkshake or thickshake maker.
It has a 'chop and whip' blade which works more like just a 'mixing' function, it could do a little bit of chopping but not things that are sometimes required in smoothies.
It is quite messy for the size of the machine, easy to use but messy. You can't make very much at a time either, which was a little disappointing considering the machine only has the one purpose. So if you were to be making smoothies for a number of people it would take a few times and I can imagine that start and stopping would be even messier.
It could be quite effective if the smoothie was only to contain extremely soft ingredients. It is a basic machine, so the features are basic as well.
