Breville BBL510 Motiv Electronic Blender

Rating: 3 out of 5
  • Currently 3.0/5.0

When first looking at this Blender, it looks fantastic. That is what first made me decide to purchase this one; it looked like it had such a large range of options and having the settings each with their own button on the front, looked easy to use.

The base is quite heavy, a lot heavier then other blenders. But it has a lot of power when in use, it is 700 Watts.

The LCD screen is handy as it shows how long it has been blending on that particular setting. So it's good when blending something that has to be blended for a pretty exact amount of time. It also has a timer setting so you can just leave it to blend for a certain amount of time.

It works excellent with ice. There are 6 settings - stir, chop, mix, puree, liquefy and ice. They all do their job perfectly and altogether, to use this blender is quite easy.

Cleaning is not as easy as other blenders. It is not easy to take the parts apart to clean as other blenders; I usually had to get someone else to twist the bottom off for me.

It did start to leak a little bit after about 2 years, and this did not get heavy use either. It was only a small amount at first so a quick wipe was all it needed. It started to get a little bit heavier, but on the 3 year mark it just completely blew. It was on, I pressed the button for a setting and it just died.

I was very happy with this Blender while it worked. The leaking and fact that it just stopped working, really made me question the money I paid on it. I had a Breville blender before this and I expected a lot more.
