2011 Can-Am DS 450 EFI X mx

Rating: 5 out of 5
  • Currently 5.0/5.0

Feel like ripping the road up? Sure why not. How about with an ATV? Now here's the 2011 Can-Am DS 450 EFI X mx. What are the specs? We'll get to that in a minute. You need to know a few things about an ATV before you purchase and ride one. You need to know your local laws. You should have safety gear. And know HOW to operate an ATV. Now here's the geeky stuff you wanted to know.

The engine is a 1-cylinder, DOHC 4-valve head with high-flow "Durchzugskraft" design, 38 mm intake valve, 31 mm Nimonic alloy. The fuel tank is 3 gallons. It has a 5-speed transmission. The wheels are black aluminum, and the tires QuadCross MX PRO. The instrumentation is low fuel, check engine, neutral - it has dual removable headlights.

The price of this baby (suggested MSRP) is $9,149.00. That's expensive, for anyone's taste. The thing about newer ATVs are that they have more going for them. More features, better parts, and handle. ATVs aren't the safest thing in the world. In fact, ATVs have caused many accidents. Not so much the ATV itself, but reckless people who ride them.

ATVs are difficult to control because of its suspension capabilities. Unlike cars and trucks, its suspension isn't completely solid. Comparing this ATV to others, this one would be a lot safer. Because of updated procedures and protocols that lacked older ATVs.

ATVs in general are a track through the wilderness. Most people who ride them are young at age. That's why they perceived to be more dangerous. Remember to take the necessary precautions before riding one, take a cell phone with you, let family know where you are going. Keep yourself safe, and have a great ride!
