When I think of "hybrid" two things, come to mind: one is better gas mileage and two, is not much power or performance. Honda has changed my mind about hybrid performance.
The steering is tight and responsive and with the powerful acceleration, it really feels like a sport car. Even with a four-cylinder motor, this Civic has the power to perform when you want it, or need it to. When the 150-volt hybrid battery technology engages, or goes off, it is such a smooth and quiet transition that your passengers will not even notice it. On the other hand, you will notice the huge amount of money you are saving on gas right away.
The gauge arrangement of the dash is functional and well lit, and you have two gauges dedicated to the "hybrid" portion of the car. The meter styled gauges show when the hybrid battery is in use, how much of it you are using, and when the (hybrid) battery is in the charging mode.
The heated leather seats and stylish interior give it the feel of a more expensive, "luxury" type car; even the knobs and control switches have a solid feel to them. They also gave it a USB port and an accessory port to accommodate multiple portable electronic devices.
Honda made this car with the customer in mind; it is very user friendly, just get in and drive. The motor and wires are all color-coded; it has a spacious trunk compartment and the inside is very quiet with little, if any, road noise. They also gave it six air bags so you can rest assured that everyone in the vehicle is protected.
It is more expensive than a "non-hybrid" car, but the difference is not as much as you might imagine. Its pricing is competitive with other hybrids in the same class, and it has a terrific warranty. Excellent reliability, performance and quality from Honda.
