Scion, in my opinion, appeared on the scene in an attempt to give the Toyota family of products a bit of street credit. The cars manufactured by this company appear highly stylized and sporty and seem cater built to please amateur street car racers. However, the only problem with that approach is that this hobby is pretty much frowned upon by most law enforcement agencies nationwide. A car company that sells stock cars that are marketed to street racers seems to have a bit of an identity crisis brewing. It needs to have enough mass market appeal to stay in business but its products cannot reach the heights that many street race cars, since many of these are customized rides.
Nevertheless, the Scion tC is a great package for its price bracket. The tC looks like a very peppy race car. The body styling is incredibly sleek and attractive. The appeal of this styling comes from how it's able to pack so much into a deceptively small frame.
The interior of the tC feels a bit like a cockpit. From the way the seats are arranged and how the intruding dash board and console locks a drive in place, getting in and out of the vehicle feels like stepping in and out of a fighter plane. This cramped interior, I imagine, is rife with safety features from the numerous air bag stickers I found plastered to the inside.
Performance wise this vehicle has a good amount of kick and really can handle itself around turns even at high speeds. This stock "race car" seems to have what it takes to bring itself up to its top speed. My main complaint is the vehicle felt like it was going to rattle itself apart. The engine sounded like it was constantly revving and I could barely hear my passengers talk or the radio playing.
