2007 Chevy Cobalt LT

Rating: 4 out of 5
  • Currently 4.0/5.0

I've found my 2007 Chevrolet Cobalt LT to be a very reliable vehicle. Before owning this vehicle I had never owned an American made car before. While the moniker of 'made in America' is often bandied around by concerned consumers, it really is hard to judge where vehicles ultimately come from. To my knowledge, this vehicle could have been assembled in Mexico. Nevertheless, for my first car from a major American company I found it to be exceptionally versatile and functional.
The interior is surprisingly roomy considering the streamlined nature of the vehicle. I found that there was adequate head room to accommodate my height. While I'm not the tallest individual I found it quite comfortable none the less. I typically do not have passengers in my vehicle but even when I would have a second or third person with me they had no problem with head or leg room.
However, since this vehicle is a two door I did find it difficult to get passengers in and out of the back seat. The driver seat does not have a catch release mechanism that allows the seat to move forward so passengers can enter and exit the back seats. Only the passenger side contains such a mechanism. This is compounded by the seats not being terribly responsive. Passengers, most young adults in good physical condition, had numerous difficulties squeezing themselves in and out of the back seat.
Nevertheless, the vehicle is sporty and stylish and is one I see in use by many college students and recent graduates because it is affordable, has good pick up and handling and is also quite fuel efficient. Depending on driving conditions and surroundings, this vehicle can easy save the driver money through its ability to conserve fuel. All in all this is a great car for young adults on a budget.
