2005 Chevrolet Malibu Maxx LT 4dr Wagon

Rating: 5 out of 5
  • Currently 5.0/5.0

In relationship to what was available at the time, when I bought my 2005 Chevrolet Malibu Maxx 4dr Wagon in 2007 I got more features and paid less for my car. I paid more or less $15,000 for my car which was pre-owned by a dealership for about two years with 20,000 miles on it. The base price for a brand new car is more or less $22,000. With the amount I paid for my Malibu Maxx, I think I had a great deal!
My Malibu Maxx holds a 3.5 liter, 200-horse power V-6 and it is considered as an extended sedan although it is a wagon. The best thing about my car is I get 31 MPG highway while 24 mpg city which is really good considering the price of gasoline these days and the bad economy. My car is really fuel efficient and it allowed me to save money and cut my gasoline expenses for about 30-40% since my old car was an SUV which is gulping gasoline, that's the primary reason why I decided to look for a medium size car and settled with the Chevy Malibu Maxx. It has a 112.3 wheelbase, 187.8 inches long and 58.1 inch tall. It holds 16-inch tires aluminum wheels.
Another reason why I chose my car, although it is a wagon it doesn't look like one and it performs like a regular sedan with its interior design with the flexibility of a sports utility vehicle having a four-speed automatic transmission with traction control. I've proven the performance of my car with my frequent driving to curvy and steep road it just gives me a good ride and a perfect handling. I never experienced any trouble driving my car even during the winter time when I drive on a snow. My car has a power adjustable brakes and accelerator pedals. My car performs well.
Speaking of winter, I enjoy the extra feature my car's heated front seats. I don't have to suffer sitting down on a cold seat.
Space, that's one thing I considered when I bought my car. It has a large interior for a medium size car wherein 5 persons can fit inside. The hatch back provides large cargo space especially when the rear seats are folded down. I am able to bring everything I need on my long vacations, camping paraphernalia etc. I can also fold down the passenger seat to carry long items (8 ft).
My car has a glass sky light which I enjoy during summer time especially when I have passengers on the rear seat it gives them a feeling of having more space.
My car has front and rear independent suspension and a long wheel base which provides me with a comfortable and smooth ride. With these car features, I don't experience too much bumps on the road especially when I go for a long trip. I feel more comfortable riding my Chevy Malibu compared with my other cars in the past. The engine is quiet.
It has a four wheel disc brake for better stopping and I never experienced any major problem with the breaks only minor maintenance.
My car has standard side air bags wherein I feel safer while driving it. Other features include: OnStar assistance, Sirius-XM Satellite radio system, power windows, locks, and mirrors, six CD changer, cellphone charger, and rear-seat DVD entertainment system. My passengers especially my daughter enjoys watching DVDs and playing video games during our long travels. Over-all, I'm satisfied with the performance of my car.
