The From: field allows multiple addresses (provided there is a Sender: field), yet I have not found a single mail client which works this way. Better to deprecate this and allow a single From: mailbox (vs. mailbox-list)I would favor Sender: being deprecated. The Bcc: field should never be sent; it defeats it's purpose. (Much has been written about this topic already)Display-name quoting was not fully codified, leading to quotes-within quotes and so on.ISO-8601 dates (YYYY-MM-DD HH:MM TZ) should be accepted also.In this (2004) world of spam and viruses, the original intent of many of the fields is moot. Better to get back to the basics of RFC 2821/2 being an interchange format rather than expecting higher levels (field authentication, etc.) from it.If RFC's included more examples throughout, it would cause fewer implementation errors.
