RFC1066 is only for network managment,  so i designed a high-level protocol than RFC1066, i name it: "55 model".
it can monitor and control application, component, system, network, and others, monitoring mothod inclue alive test, accessable test, available test, performance test, and user-defined test, i think it's suitable for all IT objects, others , i also define some tech-standard: like URC, WIZARD, etc.  if you are interested in the topic, can contact with me, my e-mail is: marris@2118.com.cn.

thanks.
