Hi,LDAP seems to suffer from  the same obfuscation as SNMP. Using an LDAPbrowser like SoftTerra makes it easier, but getting connected can be a major obstacle.By comparison consider http and URLs. One starts with a simple text string in an API or browser, and gets back a page. This page may allow further navigation to other parts of the "data tree" (web site) or not.I get the feeling that LDAP queries are relatively simple and well formed from the BN formats provided, but querying specific data is still illusive. Why have queries and filters? Why have RDNs that are made up of a bunch of key value pair looking thingies? The querying seems difficult and I'm guessing that the setup and population is equally difficult. Compare all this to opening a text file and typing in data, or typing in this textarea and clicking submit.
