It seems like multiple DHCP clients might end up having same IP addresses if they generate same transaction ID's. I shouldn't be the first one to find this one out. Seems like a dhcp-client should also verify the MAC address specified in "chaddr" field along with transaction ID to ensure that no two dhcp clients have same IP address. However, I do not see the requirement explicitly stated in RFC 2131. Hopefully, I am not having an oversight on my part.
