20100095782 | METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR DETERMINING THE FLOW PARAMETERS OF A STREAMING MEDIUM - According to the method longitudinal waves are generated in a transducer used only as a transmitter connected from outside to a conduit. These waves are transmitted along two diagonal paths through the streaming medium in an upstream and a downstream direction, and received by two transducers used only as receivers which are located in a diagonal upstream and downstream position and on an opposite side relative to the transducer used as a transmitter, also connected to the conduit. A transit time value of the waves between the transducer used as a transmitter and each of the transducers used as receivers is determined. A difference value on the basis of the determined transit time values is generated and the flow parameters are determined on the basis of said difference value. This measuring method is highly independent of the propagation velocity of the wave in the medium streaming in the conduit therefore also independent of the temperature and humidity of a gaseous medium. An apparatus and a conduit for use in the apparatus for performing the method is also suggested. The conduit used in the apparatus comprises a first location for receiving a transmitter in a middle region of the measuring area and two second locations for receiving receivers in a border region of the measuring area opposite to the first location. The wall of the conduit is dimensioned so that the longitudinal waves can pass through it with minimal loss and maximum efficiency. The inner wall of the conduit forms a uniform and continuos surface for the transmission of the longitudinal waves between the transmitter and the receivers and for blocking the passage of any organic or inorganic material. In medical applications the apparatus and its housing is configured to receive, hold and release a sterile conduit. | 04-22-2010 |

20090046571 | Method and apparatus for transmitter timing adjustment - A timing adjustment value is received, and from the received timing adjustment value is determined an integer portion and a fractional portion. In the frequency domain, the determined fractional portion is applied by rotating a signal. Optionally, a phase shift may also be imposed with the rotation. In the time domain, the determined integer portion is applied by one of inserting samples in the rotated signal or removing samples from the rotated signal in an amount corresponding to the determined integer portion. After the signal rotation to apply the fractional portion, the active sub-carriers are mapped, and the transition from frequency domain to time domain occurs by means of an inverse Fourier transform. A cyclic prefix CP may be added after the Fourier transform, separately or functionally combined with the integer portion shift by modifying the size of the CP to impose the determined integer portion. After other conventional processing known in the art, the rotated signal as advanced/delayed by the sample removal/addition is then transmitted. | 02-19-2009 |

20130148499 | Efficient Flow Control in a Radio Network Controller (RNC) - A mechanism is provided to resolve the Iub transport network congestion efficiently for HSDPA by dynamic adjustment of the transmit window of the RLC. The RLC protocol is extended with congestion control functionality. The Iub TN and Uu congestion detection method in the Node-B signals the congestion to the RNC, and this congestion indication is used by RLC to react on the congestion situation. In the RNC, the transmission window of the RLC is adjusted to control the flow rate. When congestion is detected, the RLC transmission window size is decreased. When there is no congestion, then the RLC transmission window size is increased automatically. Different types of congestion are distinguished and are handled in different ways. Alternatively, congestion control is achieved without any modification in the RLC layer from the existing standard. Here, RLC STATUS PDUs are used to change the RLC transmission window size. | 06-13-2013 |

20130148513 | CREATING PACKET TRAFFIC CLUSTERING MODELS FOR PROFILING PACKET FLOWS - Packet traffic profiling models are created based on packet headers of a packet flow at a first model aggregation level to obtain first flow information describing packet-oriented parameters of the flow. A machine learning algorithm (MLA) creates a first model based on the first information, determines if the first model achieves a first confidence level, and if not, defines multiple flow slices in the packet flow. Flow slices at a second higher model aggregation level are processed to obtain second flow information describing flow slice-oriented parameters of the packet flow, and an MLA creates a second model based on the second information to determine if the second model achieves a second confidence level. If so, the process completes; if not, further processing continues at a next level. One of the models is selected for profiling packet traffic flows. | 06-13-2013 |
