20110067780 | Apparatus for filling receptacles with granular material - A apparatus uses a flexible belt material stretched between two roller bearings to move a granular material such as sand from near ground level to a height sufficient for filling storage receptacles such as sand bags by gravity induced flow. The motive power for the apparatus may be a drive wheel which rests on the top surface of the conveyer belt over the lower roller bearing. The drive wheel is supported by the lower roller bearing and a second support bearing. The rotational motion of the drive wheel is translated to linear motion of the conveyer belt by friction between the drive wheel and flexible belt material. The drive wheel is held in position by gravity and may be quickly removed from the apparatus so that it can be relocated. The distance between the rollers may be changed to accommodate different diameter drive wheels or a change in the vertical angle of the conveyer belt. | 03-24-2011 |

20080312045 | VARIABLE STRIDE EXERCISE DEVICE - The variable stride exercise device utilizes various configurations of linkage assemblies, cam members, and other components, connected with a frame to allow a user to dynamically vary the user's stride path during exercise. The exercise device allows for a foot engagement member travel path that adapts to the change in stride length rather than forcing the user into a fixed size path. A user's exertion level may have several components impacting the stride length provided by the machine, such as leg power, torso power, and (in versions of the exercise apparatus with arm supports or exercise components) arm power. The exercise device may include a lockout device that selectively eliminates the variable stride features of the exercise device and allows the user to exercise in a stepping motion. | 12-18-2008 |

20160115003 | LIFTING APPARATUS AND METHOD OF LIFTING - A collapsible and mobile lifting apparatus. The apparatus includes a mobile base, a lifting mechanism mounted to the mobile base, suspension members extending from the lifting mechanism for operatively engaging an object to be lifted, and a counterweight system that is automatically moveable relative to the mobile base. Helical band actuators provide the lifting force. A lower counterweight at the base is moveable to variable positions in response to the load of an object on the suspension members. An upper counterweight is mounted proximate to the upper end of the lifting mechanism to resist the load on the suspension members as well. A tension cable extending from the base proximate to the upper end of the lifting mechanism provides additional force to balance the load of the object. | 04-28-2016 |

20100248368 | BIOMATERIAL - A process for the preparation of a composite biomaterial comprising: providing a first substantially solid component comprising one or more of collagen, a glycosaminoglycan, albumin, hyaluronan, chitosan, and synthetic polypeptides comprising a portion of the polypeptide sequence of collagen, and optionally an inorganic material, said component having at least a surface portion that is porous; providing a fluid composition comprising one or more of collagen, a glycosaminoglycan, albumin, hyaluronan, chitosan, and synthetic polypeptides comprising a portion of the polypeptide sequence of collagen, and a liquid carrier, and optionally an inorganic material; contacting said fluid composition with said porous surface portion of said first component; cooling said fluid composition to a temperature at which the liquid carrier transforms into a plurality of solid crystals or particles; removing at least some of the plurality of solid crystals or particles by sublimation and/or evaporation. | 09-30-2010 |

20140098142 | SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR GENERATION AND MANIPULATION OF A CURVE IN A DYNAMIC GRAPH BASED ON USER INPUT - A system and method for generating and manipulating one or more curves in a dynamic graph in response to user input. The system provides a user interface for interacting with (e.g. manipulating) curves in a dynamic graph of a drawing program. In response to user input (e.g. interaction with the graph and/or curve therein), the user interface graphically generates and/or modifies the curve. Generation/modification of the curve is based on an algorithm configured to intuitively and dynamically move control points of the curve in response to the user input. The user input may include direct interaction with portions of the curve itself, as well as direct control of the end points and/or control points. The algorithm ensures that the generated/modified curve represents a valid mathematical function, while further ensuring that the generated or modified curve appears visually smooth. | 04-10-2014 |
20140149496 | System and Method for Recording and Playback of Interactions on a Computing Device - A system and method for providing playback of interactions on a computing device. The system is configured to provide a user of a computing device with the capability of playing and/or recording walkthroughs on a user interface of the computing device, wherein the user is able to directly interact with the walkthrough and user interface in real- or near real-time during playback of the walkthrough. The walkthrough may be tutorial-based, such that the user may follow along with the walkthrough when attempting to answer a question or solve a problem via the user interface (e.g. classroom lesson on solving equations). The system is further configured to allow the user to record and generate a customized walkthrough. | 05-29-2014 |
