20100214598SYSTEM FOR VISUALLY MANAGING OFFICE DOCUMENT FINISHING OPTIONS - A computer implemented system and interactive method for selecting finishing options for a print job are disclosed. The method includes receiving a print job which includes a document to be printed and associated job ticket information. Printers capable of executing the print job are identified and a user selection of one of the capable printers is received. Finishing options available on the selected printer are displayed and a user-selected one or more of the displayed finishing options are received. A three-dimensional visualization of the document as it would be rendered on the user-selected printer with a user selected finishing option(s) is generated. The print job ticket information can then be updated, based on any user-selected printer and finishing options.08-26-2010
20100312725SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR ASSISTED DOCUMENT REVIEW - A system and method for reviewing documents are provided. A collection of documents is portioned into sets of documents for review by a plurality of reviewers. For each set, documents in the set are displayed on a display device for review by a reviewer and temporarily organized through grouping and sorting. The reviewer's labels for the displayed documents are received. Based on the reviewer's labels, a class from a plurality of classes is assigned to each of the reviewed documents. A classifier model stored in computer memory is progressively trained, based on features extracted from the reviewed documents in the set and their assigned classes. Prior to review of all documents in the set, a calculated subset of documents for which the classifier model assigns a class different from the one assigned based on the reviewer's label is returned for a second review by a reviewer. Models generated from one or more other document sets can be used to assess the review of a first of the sets.12-09-2010
20100313124MANIPULATION OF DISPLAYED OBJECTS BY VIRTUAL MAGNETISM - A computer implemented tactile user interface (TUI) and a method of manipulating objects with a virtual magnet are provided. The TUI includes a display comprising a touch-screen. The display is configured for displaying a set of graphic objects, each graphic object representing a respective one of a set of items, such as documents, e.g., text documents or images. A virtual magnet is caused to move on the display, in response to touching on the touch-screen, e.g., by dragging a finger or other implement across. The magnet is associated with a particular function command such that a subset of the graphic objects exhibits a response to the virtual magnet (e.g., is caused to move, relative to the virtual magnet or exhibits another visible response), each graphic object in the subset moving or otherwise responding as a function of an attribute of the underlying item represented by the graphic object.12-09-2010
20110310428SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR ENABLING AN ENVIRONMENTALLY INFORMED PRINTER CHOICE AT JOB SUBMISSION TIME - A system and method for facilitating environmentally informed print job selection are provided. The method includes assigning a status to each of a set of networked printers, the status of an operational printer denoting a printer as being one of at least awake, asleep, and waking up soon. The assigned status is provided to a graphical user interface, enabling a user to compare the status and/or environmental costs of printing with user selectable ones of the set of printers.12-22-2011
20120033250VIRTUAL PRINTING CURRENCY FOR PROMOTING ENVIRONMENTAL BEHAVIOR OF DEVICE USERS - A system and method for promoting environmental behavior by device users are provided. The method includes allocating “green” points to each of a plurality of users. A job request, such as a print job request, is received from one of the users. A cost in points is computed for executing the job request, based on a formula which is designed to promote environmental behavior by the user. The user's allocated points are reduced by the computed cost when the job is performed.02-09-2012
20120127540DOCUMENT SEPARATION BY DOCUMENT SEQUENCE RECONSTRUCTION BASED ON INFORMATION CAPTURE - A system and method for generating separations between jobs in a batch of scanned pages are provided. The method includes, for each of a set of jobs, capturing an image of a representative page of the job. Thereafter, the method includes scanning the set of jobs as a batch to generate a set of scanned pages. The captured images are compared with scanned pages in the set of scanned pages to identify, for at least one captured image, a respective scanned page which matches the captured image. At least one separator is generated for separating the set of scanned pages based on a location of the matching scanned page(s).05-24-2012
20120166472SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR COLLABORATIVE GRAPHICAL SEARCHING WITH TANGIBLE QUERY OBJECTS ON A MULTI-TOUCH TABLE - A system and a method are disclosed for developing a query. The system includes a display device for displaying elements, such as images, textures, color palettes, ad textual elements, which are selectable as query elements for forming a query. A physical space is provided on the display in which a physical object can be positioned. At least one physical object is positioned in the physical space, which is recognized by the system as having an identifier stored in memory to which a query can be linked. A sensor is provided for detecting a physical manipulation of the physical object in the physical space which represents absorbing a query element into a query. A query generator generates a query based on the absorbed query element. The query is thus associated in memory with the identifier for the recognized object. In this way, several physical objects can be manipulated on the display device, each one corresponding to a respective, single query.06-28-2012
20120216114QUERY GENERATION FROM DISPLAYED TEXT DOCUMENTS USING VIRTUAL MAGNETS - A system and method are provided for dynamically generating a query using touch gestures. A virtual magnet is movable on a display device of a tactile user interface in response to touch. A user selects one of a set of text documents for review, which is displayed on the display. The system is configured for recognizing a highlighting gesture on the tactile user interface over the displayed document as a selection of a text fragment from the document text. The virtual magnet is populated with a query which is based on the text fragment selected with the highlighting gesture. The populated magnet is able to cause a subset of displayed graphic objects to exhibit a response to the magnet as a function of the query and the text content of the respective documents which the objects represent and/or to cause responsive instances in a text document to be displayed.08-23-2012
20120254790DIRECT, FEATURE-BASED AND MULTI-TOUCH DYNAMIC SEARCH AND MANIPULATION OF IMAGE SETS - A system and method for manipulating graphic objects on a tactile user interface are provided. The graphic objects can be photographic images which are retrieved in response to a query and are clustered, based on values of first and second user-selected features assigned to the graphic objects. A navigation map is displayed on the user interface. The navigation map represents the clusters of graphic objects in first and second dimensions, corresponding to the first and second features. A user can manipulate a target window displayed on the navigation map using the tactile user interface. The target window encompasses a subset of the clustered graphic objects. A synchronized display of graphic objects in the subset of graphic objects on the user interface corresponds to the subset of clustered graphic objects within the displayed target window.10-04-2012
