20110195939 | ANTITUMOR PROPERTIES OF NO MODIFIED PROTEASE INHIBITORS - HIV-protease inhibitors, particularly saquinavir, showed strong anticancer activity but numerous side effects limited its application. In order to overcome its toxicity original compounds were modified by covalent attachment of NO. The efficacy of parental and NO-modified drug was compared in vitro and in vivo. Anticancer activities of NO-modified saquinavir (Saq-NO) was monitored in vitro using assay for cell viability, proliferation, necrotic, autophagic and apoptotic cell death, differentiation, expression of intracellular molecules such as cyclin D3, p53 and Akt. Antitumor properties and toxicity of the compound was estimated in vivo. Saq-NO abrogated the viability of large spectrum of human and rodent tumor cell lines with IC50 significantly lower than parental drug and expressed strong antimelanoma action in vivo. In contrast to saquinavir, there was no detectable toxicity against primary cells in vitro and in vivo. Saq-NO permanently diminished cell proliferation by induction of cell cycle block accompanied with minor presence of tumor cell death. Repressed proliferation was coordinated with strong activation of p53 and differentiation of C6 and B16 cells into oligodendrocytes or “Schwan” like cells, respectively. Oppositely to general characteristic of saquinavir to inhibit Akt signalling, Saq-NO treatment resulted in transient and intensive upregulation of Akt. This antagonism between parental and modified compound could be the crucial for switch of saquinavir from toxic to completely untoxic drug. | 08-11-2011 |

20100000714 | Modern Korsi and methods - This invention is related to the conservation of energy. The energy sources are limited and energy usage can cause environmental problems. This invention introduces a method of heating which is small and effective. In this method instead of heating the whole house which expensive and at times uncomfortable a limited heated space under a table means covered with a cover means is introduced that allows a person to warm up his/her body. Also, heating a smaller space can be done quickly and uses a limited energy, which is thus more cost-effective. This unit is designed to fold to a smaller unit for easy storage. In this method, an adjustable table means holds an electrical heating means under a cover and allows the person to use that limited space as heating source. The heating means has its control means and thermostat in order to keep the temp in a desired level. The table is very versatile and allows its dimensions to be changed easily so that the user has the option of choosing a size that fits its need. The unit also provides means for sitting and holding the feet comfortably. The unit also introduces a cover and a heating means for the user's back. This unit allows the persons to have a source of heat that can be set up easily, warm up quickly and to use minimal energy. It can also be stored in a very small space. The use of these units can be life saving in man made or natural tragedies in cold weather. | 01-07-2010 |

20150120261 | FINITE ELEMENT METHODS AND SYSTEMS - The computational efficiency of Finite Element Methods (FEM) on parallel architectures is typically severely limited by sparse iterative solvers. Standard iterative solvers are based on sequential steps of global algebraic operations, which limit their parallel efficiency, and prior art techniques exploit sophisticated programming techniques tailored to specific CPU architectures to improve performance. The inventors present a FEM Multigrid Gaussian Belief Propagation (FMGaBP) technique that eliminates global algebraic operations and sparse data-structures based upon reformulating the variational FEM into a probabilistic inference problem based upon graphical models. Further, the inventors present new formulations for FMGaBP, which further enhance its computation and communication complexities where the parallel features of FMGaBP are leveraged to multicore architectures. | 04-30-2015 |

20140187451 | Producing Nanostructure of Polymeric Core-Shell to Intelligent Control solubility of Hidrophilic Polymer during Polymer Flooding Process - Hydrophilic polymer particles have been obtained using polyacrylamide, xanthane, maleic anhydride polymers, allylamine, ethyleneimine, and oxazoline as core polymers. Then, hydrophobic polymers shells have been produced on the core-side using styrene, styrene copolymers, polyvinyl state, polysolfune, polymethyl methacrylate, and polycyclohxyl methacrylate by in-situ polymerization of monomer as method one and inverse emulsion process as method two. These particles can release hydrophilic polymers at oil-water interface at the reservoir temperature where the water flooding should have the maximum viscosity. So, active materials cause to decrease the mobility ratio of water to oil in the reservoirs and on the other hand, plug the swept porosities and prevent to act the water fingering process. | 07-03-2014 |
20150148269 | SMART POLYMER FLOODING PROCESS - Design and preparation of a smart system, including a hydrophilic polymer nanoparticle as a core material and a hydrophilic-hydrophobic block copolymer as a coating nanolayer for use in a smart core-shell nanostructure flooding during enhanced oil recovery (EOR) process. The hydrophilic polymers are prepared by an inverse emulsion method. The central core of this nanostructure includes hydrophilic polymer. The nanolayer can be a surfmer. The binary properties of the shell and hydrophilic polymers increase the water viscosity in the water-oil interface and enhance oil recovery. | 05-28-2015 |
