20080263774Flame-resistant mattress rejuvenator - A mattress add-on is placed on top of an existing mattress and provides a rejuvenated fire-safe mattress. The mattress add-on has a flame-resistant covering that fits tightly over the sides of the existing mattress and also has flaps to cover the bottom of the existing mattress. The mattress add-on in combination with the flame-resistant covering is an inexpensive means of providing both more comfort as well as fire protection safety to consumers who retain their existing mattresses. The mattress add-on does not slip on the existing mattress because it is held tightly in place by tightening the flame-resistant covering using straps across the bottom of the existing mattress. The mattress add-on is customized to a user's physical profile by using zones of foam having different densities. In addition, the mattress add-on may include metal coils or air chambers.10-30-2008
20090193583Mattress supporting system - A folding mattress support system replaces both a conventional box spring and the bed frame with rails. The mattress support system is lighter, quieter and easier to transport, and also provides more storage space beneath the mattress. The mattress support system includes bed frame assemblies, central connecting bars, edge attachments and a bed skirt. Leg brackets fold out from the bed frame assemblies, which themselves unfold in the middle. Central connecting bars connect inner side edges of the bed frame assemblies. Plastic edge attachments are attached at outer corners of the bed frame assemblies and hold a bed skirt taught around the frame assemblies when the frame assemblies are standing on the extended leg brackets. A mattress is then placed on top of the assembled mattress support system. Optionally, metal edge attachments at the head corners of the mattress support system both hold the bed skirt and support a headboard.08-06-2009
20100138994Mattress supporting system with headboard attachment - A folding mattress support system replaces a conventional bed frame with rails and the box spring. The mattress support system is lighter, easier to transport, and provides more storage space beneath the mattress. The mattress support system includes bed frame assemblies, central connecting bars, edge attachments, headboard attachments and a bed skirt. Leg supports fold out from the bed frame assemblies, which themselves unfold in the middle. Central connecting bars connect inner side edges of the bed frame assemblies. Plastic edge attachments are attached at outer corners of the bed frame assemblies and hold a bed skirt taut when the frame assemblies are standing on extended leg supports. A mattress is then placed on top of the assembled mattress support system. Optionally, metal edge attachments at the head corners hold both the bed skirt and a headboard. Alternatively, headboard attachments protrude from under the bed skirt and support a headboard.06-10-2010

20100175193Foam with green tea additive for foam mattresses, pillows and cushions - A method of making foam imparts antimicrobial and antiodorant qualities to the foam. Green tea powder is added to the polyol raw materials for making memory foam. The green tea memory foam is used to make pillows, cushions and mattresses. Green tea foam in the top layer of a mattress acts as an antiodorant such that less of the chemical smell of the memory foam is perceived by the user. In addition, the bacteria and mold that would otherwise develop in the moist warmer sleeping environment on memory foam are killed by the green tea additive to the foam. Measurable antimicrobial and antiodorant qualities in the green tea foam are achievable by adding green tea powder constituting less than 2% of the weight of the resulting green tea foam. A neck-support contour pillow is made using memory foam that contains green tea and a green dye.07-15-2010
20100294695Nano-Silver Infused Container Arrangements - Nano-silver infused container arrangements are presented including: a nano-silver infused container body defining at least one opening; and a nano-silver infused container lid configured to close off the at least one opening. In some embodiments, the arrangement is a composition of a polymeric compound and a concentration of nano-silver particles. In some embodiments, the polymeric compound includes polyvinyl-pyrrolidione, polypropylene and polycarbonate. In some embodiments, the nano-silver infused container lid includes: a lid top disposed along a plane, a gasket channel disposed along the contiguous lid wall edge, a channel opening, two opposing concave surfaces disposed perpendicular to the channel opening, and a bottom surface disposed substantially perpendicular to the two opposing concave surfaces and a compressible gasket disposed within the gasket channel and retained by the two opposing concave surfaces; and wherein, the nano-silver infused container body includes: a container bottom, a container wall, and a sealing ridge.11-25-2010
20100299831Sturdy, collapsible, telescoping bed frame - A collapsible bed frame that supports a box spring includes side rails and telescoping cross rails. A first hinge connects upper and lower portions of a first side rail that are each at least 35 inches long. A first portion of a cross rail telescopes inside a second portion of the cross rail, and the first portion is connected to the first hinge. Upper and lower portions of a second side rail are connected by a second hinge that includes a slot. The second portion of the cross rail has a tongue that fits into the slot on the second hinge. The side rails also have support legs with flanges that extend above the side rails when the support legs are extended. The first and second hinges also include flanges that together with the support leg flanges prevent the box spring from sliding towards either side of the bed frame.12-02-2010
20110061163Infant mattress that fits safely in a crib - An infant mattress fits safely in a crib without any gap between the mattress and the walls or bars of the crib. A ring of memory foam surrounds the supporting foam layers of the mattress and forms a snug fit with the vertical bars of the crib regardless of whether the dimensions of the particular crib or mattress vary from their standard sizes. The memory foam ring intentionally renders the infant mattress somewhat larger than the inner dimensions of the crib. The ring compresses when the mattress is placed in a crib in which opposing side bars are separated by a distance that is smaller than the mattress width. The ring is formed by pouring foam into a rectangular mold around the supporting foam layers. Where the mattress includes pocket coils on the supporting foam layers, the ring of memory foam conforms to the outer row of pocket coils.03-17-2011
20110094033Anti-snore neck-support contour pillow - An anti-snore neck-support pillow includes a molded foam body and a fabric covering. The body includes front, back and middle portions. The back portion is thinner than the front portion and thicker than the middle portion. The top surface of the body has a concave curve between the front and back portions. The molded foam conforms around a support member disposed within the front portion. Vertical holes pass completely through the middle portion. The body has a flat bottom surface with an indentation located opposite the concave curve of the top surface. The support member increases the firmness of the foam in the front portion, whereas the holes and the indentation decrease the firmness of the body in the middle portion. The user's head is tilted back when the support member lifts the user's neck, and the holes and indentation allow the user's head to sink into the middle portion.04-28-2011
