Inspection may be performed without a separate reference image provided from a database or another die. Inspection techniques described herein involve capturing one or more test images of a photomask and constructing corresponding test “simulation” images using specific lithographic and/or resist models. These test simulation images simulate printable and/or resist patterns of the inspected photomask. Furthermore, the initial test images are used in parallel operations to generate “synthetic” images. These images represent a defect-free photomask pattern. The synthetic images are then used for generating reference simulation images, which are similar to the test simulation images but are free from lithographically significant contamination defects. Finally, the reference simulation images are compared to the test simulation images to identify the lithographically significant contamination defects on the photomask.12-08-2011

20090083275Method, Apparatus and Computer Program Product for Performing a Visual Search Using Grid-Based Feature Organization - A method, apparatus and computer program product are provided for visually searching feature sets that are organized in a grid-like manner. As such, a feature set associated with a location-based grid area may be received. The location-based grid area may also be associated with the location of a device. After receiving query image features, a visual search may be performed by comparing the query image features with the feature set. The search results are then returned. By conducting the visual search within a feature set that is selected based upon the location of the device, the efficiency of the search can be enhanced and the search may potentially be performed by the device, such as a mobile device, itself.03-26-2009
20090094289METHOD, APPARATUS AND COMPUTER PROGRAM PRODUCT FOR MULTIPLE BUFFERING FOR SEARCH APPLICATION - A method, apparatus and computer program product are provided for facilitating a fast and efficient search. The apparatus may include a processor configured to receive and buffer a dataset based on the current location of a user, in a first buffer; receive and buffer another dataset based on the current location of the user and the direction of movement of the user, in a second buffer; search the dataset, based on the current location of the user, to identify an object from an image; and update buffers based on a change in location of the user, wherein updating buffers includes associating the second buffer with a current location and receive and buffer a dataset, based on the current location of the user and the direction of movement of the user, in the first buffer.04-09-2009
20100111441METHODS, COMPONENTS, ARRANGEMENTS, AND COMPUTER PROGRAM PRODUCTS FOR HANDLING IMAGES - Artifacts are located in an electronic representation of an image. There is stored a characterisation of a located artifact. There is also output at least one of a characterisation of the artifact or a representation of the artifact. The system may aid the user to correct artifacts, for example by guiding her how to take a new image that contains data that helps in correcting the artifacts.05-06-2010

20080286789GENOMIC POLYMORPHISM FOR PREDICTING THERAPEUTIC RESPONSE - The present invention relates to the use of genomic polymorphism to provide individualized therapeutic regimens to treat patients suffering from diseases such as cancer. The invention discloses methods for determining the efficacy or choice of chemotherapeutic drugs and regimens for use in treating a diseased patient by associating genomic polymorphism with the effectiveness of the drugs or regimens, or by associating genomic polymorphism with the intratumoral expression of a gene whereby the gene expression affects effectiveness of the drugs or regimens. In particular, the present invention provides novel methods for screening therapeutic regimens, which comprise determining a patient's genotype at a tandemly repeated 28 base pair region in the thymidilate synthase (TS) gene's 5′ untranslated region (UTR). Patients homozygous for a triple repeat will be least successfully treated with a thymidylate synthase directed drug, while those heterozygous for a triple and a double repeat will be more successfully treated, and those homozygous for a double repeat will be even more successfully treated. Those patients homozygous for the double repeat will likely suffer the least side effects from thymidylate synthase directed drugs such as 5-FU.11-20-2008

20100268701NAVIGATIONAL RANKING FOR FOCUSED CRAWLING - Systems and methods of navigational ranking for focused crawling are disclosed. In an exemplary embodiment, a method may include using a classifier to distinguish at least one target web page from other web pages on a website. The method may also include modeling the web pages on the website by a directed graph G=(V, E), wherein each web page is represented by a vertex (V), and a link between two web pages is represented by an edge (E). The method may also include assigning each web page (u) in V is assigned a weight p(u) based on the classifier to calculate a navigational ranking indicating relevance of a web page.10-21-2010
20100293116URL AND ANCHOR TEXT ANALYSIS FOR FOCUSED CRAWLING - Systems and methods of URL and anchor text analysis for focused crawling are disclosed. In an exemplary embodiment, a method may include training a focused crawler by: obtaining a training set of at least URL's or anchor text for a website, computing a score for the training set, and extracting a plurality of features of the training set, and computing a score for each of the plurality of features. The features identify key information contained in the website. The method may also include executing a trained focused crawler on other websites.11-18-2010
20100293159SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR EXTRACTING PHASES FROM TEXT - Systems and methods for extracting phrases from text are disclosed. In an exemplary embodiment, a method may include preprocessing desired phrases into at least one phrase indexing data structure for efficient matching. The method may also include scanning text to construct a hash table including keys and corresponding entries. The method may also include locating suffix trie trees for each word in the hash table. The method may also include matching each position in the hash table against the suffix trie trees, and outputting phrases matched in the scanned text.11-18-2010
20110173145CLASSIFICATION OF A DOCUMENT ACCORDING TO A WEIGHTED SEARCH TREE CREATED BY GENETIC ALGORITHMS - A device for classifying a document comprises a module to generate a data tree structure and configured to assign terms to a first plurality of nodes of the data tree structure, where each of the first plurality of nodes is assigned a weight. In assigning the weights of the first plurality of nodes, a first generation of combinations of possible weights assignable as the weights of the first plurality of nodes is obtained, and a second generation of combinations of possible weights assignable as the weights of the first plurality of nodes is obtained by performing the genetic algorithms in the first generation of combinations of possible weights. The device determines whether the document is in a document class based at least the weights of the first plurality of nodes.07-14-2011
