20080218220Signal converting apparatus - A signal converting apparatus includes the following elements. A converting section converts an input signal into output signals on the basis of the values of reference parameters, serving as references of a plurality of parameters for signal conversion, and the values of newly proposed parameters. An evaluation input receiving section receives an evaluation input indicating the selection of either the output signal based on the values of the reference parameters or the output signal based on the values of the newly proposed parameters. A parameter updating section linearly changes the values of the newly proposed parameters when the evaluation input indicates the selection of the output signal based on the values of the newly proposed parameters, and nonlinearly changes the values of the reference and newly proposed parameters when the evaluation input indicates the selection of the output signal based on the values of the reference parameters.09-11-2008

20120106348Dynamic QOS Tagging for RTP Packets - Improved handling of RTP streams in digital networks. A switching device in a digital network such as a controller, bridge, or access point examines streams flowing through the device. The device monitors the initial UDP packets of a stream until a predetermined number of packets have been monitored. The device monitors and fingerprints the header portion of UDP packets, looking for RTP header bit patterns, ignoring certain RTP packet types, and caching others. This fingerprinting process attempts to match cached packet header information against subsequent packets in the stream to detect RTP streams. If the stream is determined to be an RTP stream, then the RTP type from the packet header is used to tag the stream. In one embodiment, such tags are QoS tags. Tagging may also be based on the control session port used.05-03-2012

20100199086NETWORK TRANSACTION VERIFICATION AND AUTHENTICATION - A two-level authentication system is described supporting two-factor authentication that offers efficient protection for secure on-line web transactions. It includes a global unique identity (UID) provided either by an institute-issued/personal trusted device, or based on client computing platform hardware attributes, and generated using institution authorized private software, institution-authorized authentication proxy software, and an institution-generated credential code which is pre-stored in the token and only accessible by the institute-authorized authentication proxy software. The institution-authorized authentication proxy software uses the user's PIN and the trusted device's UID as input and verifies the user and device identities through institution-generated credential code which was pre-stored in the trusted device. Authentication is performed in two levels: the first authenticates the user and the trusted device locally; and the second authenticates the user remotely at the institution-owned authentication server. Various embodiments add extra levels of security, including one-time-password management.08-05-2010
