20090117024 | Process for the Production of Hydrogen with Co-Production and Capture of Carbon Dioxide - A process for the production of hydrogen with the co-production and capture of carbon dioxide, wherein the process comprises steam methane reforming a hydrocarbon feedstock in the presence of a fuel and a combustion sustaining medium using (i) a steam methane reformer unit that comprises a steam methane reformer (SMR), and (ii) a water gas shift unit, so as to result in the production of a reformed gas stream comprising hydrogen and carbon dioxide, and a combustion products stream. The process comprises the steps of: (a) separating and removing most or all of the hydrogen from the reformed gas stream; and then (b) recovering most or all of the carbon dioxide as a separate by-product stream by condensation of liquid carbon dioxide from the gas stream; and then (c) recycling the remaining gases from the gas stream by mixing these gases with the SMR feed stream. The fuel used is principally hydrogen, for example the fuel may contain 95 mol % or more hydrogen when measured on a dry basis. Greater than 85%, typically greater than 99%, of the carbon contained in the feed stream to the process is recovered and exported as carbon dioxide. | 05-07-2009 |

20130188777 | NON-LINEAR DATA ACQUISITION - One or more techniques and/or systems described herein implement, among other things, a parabolic curve for a ramp signal in a data acquisition component, where the curve can be effectively calibrated and used to provide a settling period to mitigate noise. That is, a ramp generator can generate a ramp signal that has a parabolic voltage curve with two substantially mirroring halves. A comparator can compare a first portion of the parabolic voltage curve with a voltage signal indicative of a number of photons detected by a detection array. A second portion of the parabolic voltage curve is used as a temporal delay so that circuitry, such as the ramp generator, can settle. | 07-25-2013 |
20140270081 | DYNAMIC CONTROL OF RADIATION EMISSION - Among other things, one or more techniques and/or systems for selectively inhibiting radiation from being generated by a radiation source are provided. A radiation source comprises an electrically conductive gate situated between a cathode and an anode. When a voltage potential is created between the gate and the cathode, a flow of electrons between the cathode and the anode is mitigated, thus inhibiting radiation from being generated by the radiation source. When the voltage potential is removed or lessened, electrons may more freely flow between the cathode and the anode to generate radiation. In some embodiments, a calibration, such as a dark calibration, may be performed while the gate mitigates the flow of electrons. Moreover, in some embodiments, an accelerating voltage applied to the radiation source may be held substantially constant when radiation is generated as well as when radiation generation is inhibited. | 09-18-2014 |

20130170608 | VOLTAGE RIPPLE REDUCTION - Among other things, one or more techniques and/or systems are described for reducing a voltage ripple in an electric signal. In this way, in radiographic imaging modalities, for example, undesired fluctuations in an output of a radiation source (e.g., undesirable fluctuations in an energy level of emitted photons) may be reduced. To reduce the voltage ripple, a (ripple reducing) electric signal is generated that comprises properties substantially similar to the voltage ripple, but opposite in phase. The (ripple reducing) electric signal is then combined with the original electric signal to generate a combined electric signal with a voltage ripple that is reduced relative to the voltage ripple of the electric signal as initially generated. | 07-04-2013 |
20130259202 | CONTACTLESS COMMUNICATION SIGNAL TRANSFER - Among other things, one or more techniques and/or systems are described herein for transferring communication information between a stationary unit and a movable (e.g., rotating) unit, or between two movable units without contact between the units. A transmitter is configured to translate digital information into an analog signal which may be fed to an input coupler positioned within a channel of an electrically conductive member (e.g., on a first unit, such as a stationary unit). The current of the signal induces a signal in an output coupler (e.g., on a second unit, such as a movable unit). Voltage characteristics of the induced signal (e.g., which substantially correspond to voltage characteristics of the signal fed into the input coupler) may subsequently be used to reconstruct the digital data at a receiver. In this manner, information can be communicated between two non-contacting units. | 10-03-2013 |
20140239715 | POWER DELIVERY TO A MOVING UNIT - Power delivery of an image modality system for transferring power from a transmission unit (e.g., stationary unit) to a reception unit (e.g., a moving and/or rotating unit). A modulated electric signal comprising at least two modulated characteristics (e.g., such as amplitude and frequency) is configured to (e.g., concurrently) supply power to both high voltage and lower voltage components ( | 08-28-2014 |

20090254922 | METHOD FOR EFFICIENT LOCATION OF CORBA OBJECTS BASED ON UNMARSHALED OBJECT KEY IN A REQUEST - Disclosed are methods and threads for responding to a request to perform an operation on a server object as may be provided in software form within an object request broker (ORB) server library or an ORB server. The specified object is identified by a marshaled object key in a conventional manner. The method improves upon prior art techniques by directly locating the object using the marshaled object key free of any unmarshaling step. The specified operation can then be invoked on the located object. The method applies to both in-process and out-of-process requests. In a preferred implementation, the marshaled object key is utilized as a hash key to directly access a pointer to the object. | 10-08-2009 |

20090303102 | Multilateration System and Method - In the described system the multilateration process to be applied to determine an aircraft's position is chosen on the basis of the available returns, receiver geometry and the height of the aircraft. | 12-10-2009 |
20120127015 | Multilateration System and Method - A multilateration system and method includes a plurality of receiver stations for receiving signals from an aircraft, and a controller that derives the position of the aircraft by applying a multilateration process to outputs from the receiver stations. For this purpose, the controller determines the altitude of the aircraft and selects a multilateration process that is to be used for position determination, based on the determined altitude. | 05-24-2012 |

20090027270 | Apparatus and Method for Determining Receiver Performance in a Multilateration System - In a multilateration system receivers are grouped into two groups. The first group is used to determine a position of a signal source, for example, an aircraft equipped with a SAR transponder. From the determined position, predicted time of arrival values are produced for the second group receivers. These are compared with the actual time of arrival values for the signals arriving at the second group receivers. A difference is determined and then the variation of that difference is determined as the aircraft travels in its track. The groupings are then varied and further variations determined. When the minimum variation is determined an alert is given that the second group has a receiver which is operating with a larger than desirable group time delay. | 01-29-2009 |
