20090100288 | FAST SOFTWARE FAULT DETECTION AND NOTIFICATION TO A BACKUP UNIT - A method and system for quickly informing a backup unit that a primary unit has failed. Normally an exception handler is activated when a software failure occurs and network controller chips or the ASIC interface to a signal bus can operate even though there is a software failure. A software failure notification packet is programmed and stored in a location that is not affected by a software system failure. When a software failure occurs, control is shifted to the exception handler. The exception handler sends a pre-established and pre-addressed packet to the network controller card which transmits this packet to the backup unit. Upon receipt of the packet, the backup unit goes into operation. In some alternate embodiments that include multiple line cards in a single unit, the exception handler sends a signal to a backup unit via a signal bus or a data bus. | 04-16-2009 |

20090268322 | Systems and Methods for Acquiring Modified Rate Burst Demodulation in Servo Systems - Various embodiments of the present invention provide systems and methods for performing modified rate burst demodulation. For example, a method for performing modified rate burst demodulation is disclosed. The method includes receiving a data input that includes a synchronization pattern, an information pattern, and a demodulation pattern. A periodic boundary is established along with a phase and frequency of a sampling clock based at least in part on the synchronization pattern. The information pattern is processed using the sampling clock to determine a location fix. The sampling clock is phase shifted by a skew amount and a phase shifted sampling clock is provided. The demodulation pattern is processed using the phase shifted sampling clock. | 10-29-2009 |

20090267819 | Systems and Methods for Reducing the Effects of ADC Mismatch - Various embodiments of the present invention provide systems and methods for utilizing a plurality of potentially mismatched analog to digital converters. For example, a method for adaptively processing a variety of input signals is disclosed. The method includes providing an adaptive loop circuit, and a first and second circuit pairs. The first circuit pair includes a first analog to digital converter and first register, and the second circuit pair includes a second analog to digital converter and a second register. An input signal is received and an event status is received. The event status initially indicates that the input signal includes data associated with a first event and subsequently indicates that the input signal includes data associated with a second event. The first circuit pair to drive the adaptive loop circuit when the first event is indicated, and the second circuit pair to drive the adaptive circuit when the second event is indicated. | 10-29-2009 |
20100118690 | Systems and Methods for Sector Address Mark Detection - Various embodiments of the present invention provide systems and methods for sector address mark detection. As an example, data detection systems are disclosed that include a sector address mark detection circuit and a sector address mark quality detection circuit. The sector address mark detection circuit receives a data stream and identifies a sector address mark in the data stream. The sector address mark quality detection circuit receives a first sample and a second sample from the data stream corresponding to the sector address mark, and determines a quality of the sector address mark based at least in part on the first sample and the second sample. In various cases, one or more of the samples of the sector address mark up to all of the samples of the sector address mark may be used. | 05-13-2010 |

20150122044 | MAGNETOELASTIC STRAIN SENSOR - A strain sensor having an active area that includes a magnetoelastic resonator and spring configured so that the spring undergoes a greater amount of strain than the resonator when the sensor is under load. The sensor is anchored at opposite ends of the active area to a substrate for which strain is to be measured. An interrogating coil is used for wireless sensor readout. A biasing magnet may be included to provide a desired sensor response for the particular application of the sensor. The strain sensor may be implemented as a differential strain sensor that includes a second, strain-independent reference resonator. | 05-07-2015 |

20140078400 | LOW COMPLEXITY SYNCHRONOUS CONTROL OF VIDEO PROCESSING USING VIDEO INFORMATION IN IN-BAND PORTIONS OF VIDEO - A method for processing a video stream includes receiving the video stream at a first video processing circuit, and generating video information for the video stream by the first video processing circuit. The method further includes inserting the video information into an in-band portion of the video stream by the first video processing circuit, and transmitting the video stream with the video information in the in-band portion from the first video processing circuit to a second video processing circuit. The method further includes reading the video information from the in-band portion of the video stream by the second video processing circuit, and processing the video stream by the second video processing circuit using the video information in the in-band portion of the video stream. The method further includes transmitting the video stream with the video information in the in-band portion from the second video processing circuit for additional processing. | 03-20-2014 |

20140078401 | DISTRIBUTION AND USE OF VIDEO STATISTICS FOR CLOUD-BASED VIDEO ENCODING - A method for processing a video stream includes receiving first and second copies of the video stream by first and second video processing devices, respectively, and generating first and second statistical data for the video stream by the first and the second video processing devices, respectively. The method further includes transmitting in first and second transmissions the first and the second copies of the video stream with the first and the second statistical data respectively from the first and the second video processing device to a third video processing device, and reading the first and the second statistical data from the first and the second transmissions by the third video processing device. The method further includes combining the first and the second statistical data with one copy of the video stream by the third video processing device, and transmitting the one copy of the video stream with the first and the second statistical data. | 03-20-2014 |
20150063469 | MULTIPASS ENCODER WITH HETEROGENEOUS CODECS - A multipass encoder is provided with heterogeneous codecs. In one example the system includes a MPEG-4 encoder to perform a less complex first pass encoding followed by a second pass more complex HEVC encoder. The system allows for a faster development cycle of a multipass encoder for a newly introduced codec by reusing the infrastructure and multipass design of an established video encoder already dealing with older technology. This multipass system allows bringing existing technology to a new codec with the constraints of the pre-existing codec limitations, particularly in terms of CPU cycles, to make use of the new codec more economically practical. | 03-05-2015 |

20140244680 | SQL QUERY PARSING AND TRANSLATION - Various embodiments of systems and methods of translating SQL queries are described herein. A structured query language (SQL) query of a first database is split into tokens and traversed from a first token. When a keyword token is encountered, a current parser is created to store a table name and a column name associated with the encountered keyword token. When an open parenthesis is encountered, a token immediately preceding the open parenthesis is stored as a function name in the current parser. The table names, column names, and function names of a plurality of parsers are consolidated. One or more of the table names, the column names, and the function names are replaced with corresponding names that are compatible with SQL-syntax of a second database. A result comprising the consolidated table names, the consolidated column names, the consolidated function names, and replaced names is generated. | 08-28-2014 |
20140244690 | GENERATE IN-MEMORY VIEWS FROM UNIVERSE SCHEMA - In one aspect, a Universe designed and built in a database is used for modeling data in an in-memory database. The Universe is loaded in a front-end development application to display a universe schema contained in the Universe. The logic built in the front-end development application enables parsing the universe schema, to determine patterns matching in-memory views such as attribute views and analytic views. The determined patterns are generated as attribute views and analytic views, and displayed for user selection. Selected attribute views and analytic views are stored in the in-memory database. | 08-28-2014 |
