The first feed stream is introduced separately into the reactor and is passed through a first catalyst bed which contains the catalyst pellets deposited on a suitable support or grid. The feed stream is heated in the hydrogenation reaction. Downstream of first catalyst bed, further feed gas is supplied which serves to cool the reaction gas permitting that the gas can then be passed through a second catalyst bed. Downstream of the second catalyst bed there may be further catalyst beds and further feed gas supply devices. The catalyst beds can be provided in the reactor in any number, type and shape. These process conditions ensure that a product gas be obtained which essentially contains no other sulphur compound than hydrogen sulphide.11-25-2010
20110061529PROCESS AND DEVICE FOR THE SEPARATION OF FOREIGN GASES FROM A REDUCING USEFUL GAS BY STEAM-DRIVEN PRESSURE SWING ADSORPTION - A process is described for purifying synthesis gas by means of a pressure swing adsorption unit which is desorbed by a vacuum produced by a so-called ejector, which is driven by steam generated by a heat exchanger which uses the heat in the flue gas duct or in the useful-gas duct for the generation of steam. The pressure swing adsorption unit is operated advantageously in cyclic turns of adsorption under excess pressure, depressurization desorption and vacuum desorption and the gas desorbed by the ejector being cooled in a cooler so that the contained steam can be condensed and discharged or is advantageously returned to the feed gas for the synthesis gas production. The foreign gas desorbed by the pressure swing adsorption unit, which contains at least partly not yet consumed fuel gas, is recycled to the fuel gas. In an advantageous embodiment, the vacuum from the ejector is stored in an intermediate tank and applied to the pressure swing adsorption unit according to the vacuum desorption cycle. Subsequently the gas is cooled and fed into at least one more chamber located above the first chamber, where further moisture is condensed before the resulting condensate is fed via a pipe—preferably shaped like a siphon—into the bottom reservoir to prevent the gas from flowing from the chamber below into the chamber above. 20120126177PRIMARY REFORMER FOR REDUCED NITRIC OXIDE FORMATION - A method is disclosed for catalytic primary reformation of hydrocarbons with steam at elevated pressure by means of a split tube reactor and a firing chamber. In the split tube system which can use a catalyst material, hydrocarbons to be reformed are converted by water steam to synthesis gas. The split tube system is heated by a plurality of firing facilities between the split tubes which include a plurality of burners arranged in series, the burners generating mainly downwardly directed flames. The relevant firing facilities are supplied with fuel and air, with the air being withdrawn from the relevant feeders. The flue gas thus evolving passes through the firing chamber from top to bottom and enters in the lower area of the firing chamber into horizontally arranged ceramic flue gas tunnels extending in parallel to each other and perpendicular to the vertical split tubes and being allocated to one firing facility each. The flue gas enters through apertures in the lateral walls of the flue gas tunnels. The flue gas at the exit of the firing chamber is passed into heat recovery devices. In each flue gas tunnel an additional gas is fed into the tunnel's front side, in flue gas flow direction, wherein the gas containing oxygen and a non-combustible gas, so that the additional gas passes the flue gas tunnels over the entire length of the firing chamber. 20130030235METHOD FOR DESULFURIZING OLEFIN-CONTAINING CHARGE MATERIAL BY CONTROLLING THE OLEFIN CONTENT - A process and an apparatus for desulphurisation of a feed stream containing olefins and hydrogen which is split into at least two feed streams. The first feed stream is introduced into the reactor and reaches a first catalyst bed and is heated by the hydrogenation reaction. Downstream the second feed stream is supplied which will cool down the reaction gas which can then be passed through a second catalyst bed. The content the feed streams can be controlled by adding olefins or dilution gas. The reaction will generate a product gas which will basically contain hydrogen sulphide as a sulphur compound. The temperature of the catalysts and of the gas flow is controlled via the olefin content in the feed streams. The higher the olefin content in the feed stream, the more intense the heating of the gas flow by the hydrogenation heat in the subsequent catalyst bed.01-31-2013
