20100174769In-Place Fast Fourier Transform Processor - An N-point Fast Fourier Transform (FFT) using mixed radix stages with in-place data sample storage may be performed by decomposing N into a product of R sequential mixed radix stages of radix-r(i). N data samples are partitioned into at least B memory banks, where B is equal to a largest radix of the R radix stages. Each input data sample to each radix-r(i) butterfly comes from r(i) different memory banks and the output data samples are written to the same memory locations in the r(i) memory banks. Determining from which memory bank the input data samples and output data samples of the butterflies are stored is done based on the radix size and sequential position of the radix stage. Determining the address of the input data samples and the output data samples within each memory bank is based on the radix size and sequential position of the radix stage.07-08-2010

20130122239Perfect Heart: An article of manufacture and method of designing and interacting with a heart having utilitarian measurements - A design for a perfect geometric heart that has unique properties that make it more useful and practical is disclosed as well as a method for creating hearts for building mosaics and building block games, as well as a method for interacting with a set of such hearts. The top angle of the heart is designed to match the angle of the bottom of another or a similar heart. This way, a copy of the same heart can wedge to the bottom of the heart, and a first heart can wedge a second heart. In addition, an embodiment of such a heart is disclosed in which the top of the heart and the bottom have a matching 90 degree angle, can overlap top to bottom and sideways so that a plurality of hearts can perfectly stack or overlap in any of four different directions and maintain 90 degree angles in the spaces formed where the tops of where any two individual hearts meet, allowing for further wedging. Additionally, four hearts of the same unique embodiment can meet at the bottom tip and create eight more 90 degree angles so that even more hearts could wedge.05-16-2013

20090295933Imaging Systems and Methods for Recovering Object Visibility - A system and method are provided for imaging in scattering media such as fog, water and biological tissues. Normally, such images suffer from poor visibility due to backscattering and signal attenuation. At least two images are taken of the scene using active widefield polarized illumination, with different states of a camera-mounted polarizer. The degree of polarization of backscatter is estimated in every point of the scene, leading to an estimation of the backscatter in every point of the scene. A portion or all of the value of backscatter can be deducted in each point of the scene resulting in an enhanced image with improved contrast and brightness range across the field of view.12-03-2009

20090125229Corridor mapping with alternative routes - A navigation system computes an optimal route between an origin and a destination using a map server. The map server identifies likely points of deviation from the optimal route, and prior to transmitting map data to a client device, establishes alternative optimal routes from the deviations to the destination. A search algorithm is employed in which computation effort is reduced through improved heuristics and enhanced recognition of previously expanded nodes and alternative routes through nodes determined in prior iterations of the search. A route corridor map including the optimal route and alternative routes is download from the map server to the client device.05-14-2009
