20160062916 | CIRCUIT-BASED APPARATUSES AND METHODS WITH PROBABILISTIC CACHE EVICTION OR REPLACEMENT - Selection logic can be used to select between a set of cache lines that are candidates for eviction from a cache. For each cache line in the set of cache lines, a relative probability that the cache line will result in a hit can be calculated based upon: past reuse behavior for the cache line; and hit rates for reuse distances. Based upon the relative probabilities for the set of cache lines, a particular cache line can be selected from the set of cache lines for eviction. | 03-03-2016 |

20150199215 | ASSIGNING DATA PROCESSING WORKLOADS IN DATA CENTERS BASED ON NON-DATA PROCESSING OVERHEAD - Data processing workloads are selectively assigned within a data center and/or among data centers based on non-data processing overhead within the data center and/or among the data centers. Power consumption of a rack including servers is predicted based on data processing demands that are placed on the servers for a given data processing workload, and power consumed by the rack is measured when the servers are performing the given data processing workload. A metric of power consumed by the rack for non-data processing overhead is derived based on a difference between results of the predicting and the measuring. A future data processing workload is selectively assigned to the rack based on the metric of power of power consumed by the rack for the non-data processing overhead. Assignment may also take place at an aisle and/or data center level based on these metrics. | 07-16-2015 |
20150199250 | DETERMINING AND USING POWER UTILIZATION INDEXES FOR SERVERS - A power utilization index is determined for a server that defines an amount of energy that is consumed by the server for a unit of workload performed by the server. Future power usage by the server may then be predicted based on the power utilization index and a projected workload demand on the server. Moreover, workload for the server may be selectively assigned in response to the predicting. The power utilization index may be determined by a obtaining measurements of power consumed by the server in response to various workloads. Measurements of workload demands placed on the server are also obtained for the workloads. The measurements of workload demands may separately account for demands placed upon a processor subsystem of the server, a memory subsystem of the server, a network communication subsystem of the server and a storage subsystem of the server, for the various workloads. | 07-16-2015 |
20150227397 | ENERGY EFFICIENT ASSIGNMENT OF WORKLOADS IN A DATACENTER - A computing workload is allocated amongst servers based on energy usage considerations. An energy consumption model is created for different server configurations. Based on the energy consumption models for the respective server configurations, different energy consumptions are predicted for executing a workload in corresponding different allocations of the workload on the servers. One of the allocations is selected based on the predicted energy consumptions. The selected allocation could minimize total energy use, reduce peak energy use, spread out energy use, etc. | 08-13-2015 |

20090091289 | STATOR INTER-TURN FAULT DETECTION OF SYNCHRONOUS MACHINES - A fault detection system using field current and rotor search coil voltage harmonics is provided. The technology is capable of detecting an inter-turn fault unambiguously and rapidly in a synchronous machine. The internal asymmetry of the machine that has adversely affected the earlier fault diagnosis results has, for the first time, been shown as an advantage. | 04-09-2009 |
20130338939 | FAULT DIAGNOSIS OF ELECTRIC MACHINES - Faults and fault types in electric machines can be identified based on spectra associated with stator and field currents. Signals associated with such currents can be compensated for line variations, and spectral contributions for non-eccentric machines can be reduced or eliminated to permit distinguish static eccentricities from non-eccentric machine operation. One or more of a static eccentricity, a dynamic eccentricity, and a mixed eccentricity can be identified based on spectral component magnitudes at selected frequencies. | 12-19-2013 |
20150311788 | CURRENT SENSORLESS CONTROL OF A BOOST-TYPE SWITCH MODE RECTIFIER (SMR) WITH INDUCTOR PARAMETER ADAPTATION - Boost-type switch-mode rectifiers (SMR) commonly use a resistor or a magnetic current sensor to measure the instantaneous input or inductor current that is used as the feedback to the current controller. A novel current sensorless scheme is described that computes the inductor current from the measured inductor voltage in a single-phase boost-type SMR using an adaptive low pass filter. This calculation requires an estimate of the inductance and the equivalent series resistance of the inductor coil. Both these parameters are dependent on operating conditions and are updated continuously. This is done using an adaptive model of the inductor that computes these parameters of the inductor once in every half cycle of the input current. The adaptation scheme is robust against parameter variations. Simulation and experimental results confirm the effectiveness of the proposed technique which provides comparable performance to standard measured feedback current scheme both under steady-state and transient conditions. | 10-29-2015 |

20110082723 | RATING AGENTS PARTICIPATING IN ELECTRONIC TRANSACTIONS - This invention concerns computer system and method for rating agents participating in electronic transactions. In particular, the invention provides a computer system for rating agents participating in electronic transactions, the system comprising a data store to store a set of rules to describe expected behaviours of a first agent for interactions that take place during an electronic transaction with a second agent, wherein at least one rule describes the expected behaviours in terms of a primary expected behaviour and at least one alternative expected behaviour. The system also comprises a monitoring engine operable to monitor actual behaviours of the first agent for interactions that place during the electronic transaction; and a compliance engine operable to calculate a degree of compliance between the monitored actual behaviours and the expected behaviours. | 04-07-2011 |
