20150287486 | RADIATION SHIELD WITH MAGNETIC PROPERTIES - A radiation attenuation shield, method, and system are disclosed. The shield includes a polymer, a radiation attenuating material, and a magnetic material. The radiation attenuating material and the magnetic material may be dispersed within the polymer to form an attenuation layer. Further, a magnetic material layer may be positioned adjacent to the attenuation layer or encase the attenuation layer. The radiation attenuation shield may be made by combining the components to create a mixture and then inserting the mixture in a mold until a solidified shape is formed. Moreover, the radiation attenuation shield of the present invention may be mechanically secured to a structure to contain radiation. Further, the shield may be secured to a structure by using the magnetic properties of the shield. | 10-08-2015 |

20120281127 | DIGITAL CAMERA USER INTERFACE FOR TEXT ENTRY - A portable electronic device providing a user-specified input string, comprising: user controls enabling a user to select between at least an up input, a down input, a left input, a right input, and a confirmation input; and a program memory storing instructions configured to implement a method for providing a user-specified input string. The method includes: displaying a string input interface including a string entry section, and at least two independently scrollable character selection sections; accepting user input to sequentially select characters, wherein the up input and the down input are used to select a scrollable character selection section, the left input and the right input are used to scroll through the characters in the selected scrollable character selection section to select a particular character, and the confirmation input is used to add the selected particular character to the input string displayed in the string input section. | 11-08-2012 |
20120281960 | DIGITAL CAMERA USER INTERFACE FOR VIDEO TRIMMING - A digital video camera comprising: user controls enabling a user to select between at least an up input, a down input, a left input, a right input, and a confirmation input; and a program memory storing instructions to implement a method for trimming a digital video sequence. The method includes: selecting a digital video sequence; initiating a trimming operation; accepting user input to select a start frame and an end frame for a trimmed digital video sequence, wherein the up input and the down input are used to select between a start frame selection mode and an end frame selection mode, and the left input and the right input are used to scroll through the frames of the selected digital video sequence; and trimming the selected video sequence to include the frames between the selected start frame and the selected end frame. | 11-08-2012 |
20130129308 | DISPLAY DEVICE WITH ADAPTIVE FAST NAVIGATION MODE - A digital video display device having an adaptive fast navigation mode for navigating through a digital video sequence having a time sequence of video frames, comprising a display, a user interface including user controls and a data processing system. A program memory stores instructions configured to perform the steps of: selecting a digital video sequence; determining a time duration associated with the selected digital video sequence, initiating a fast navigation operation in response to user activation of an appropriate user control, determining a fast navigation speed responsive to the time duration of the selected digital video sequence, designating a particular video frame in the selected digital video sequence to be a current video frame; and periodically updating the designation of the current video frame in accordance with the determined fast navigation speed. | 05-23-2013 |
