20120024885 | Sled driven queued item dispenser - A machine particularly adapted for dispensing light items packaged in pliable pouches or packets having a machine graspable crowned carrier. The items are propelled in a queue through a tubular cartridge along a track having a ratcheting mechanism to be individually dispensed. A motorized reciprocation bolt engages the mechanism at the back of the cartridge. Multiple cartridges can be grouped together in an expandable array using an interlocking bar and T system to form a removable magazine. Each cartridge can be selectively addressed and activated by its dedicated motorized bolt. In a preferred embodiment of the ratcheting mechanism, the heads of the package carriers are held within a C-shaped track and propelled by the alternating back-and forth motion of a crenelated drive rack successively pushing a sled at the rear of the package queue. A self-engaging brake impedes backward movements of the sled and packages during a return stroke of the drive rack. A coupler is provided for conveniently transferring a batch of products temporarily mounted on a storage and transportation rail directly onto the ratcheting mechanism from the back of a vending machine. | 02-02-2012 |

20100326317 | Steering Railway Bogie - The present invention is directed to a railway bogie with a mounted vehicle body including a frame; a plurality of wheelsets and steering linkages linking the wheelsets so that the wheelsets can cooperate to be in steering alignment. The bogie has a wheelset body linkage pivotally connecting the steering linkages with the bogie body so to position the body relative to the wheelsets and two alignment rams to position the body relative to the frame. The bogie also has sensors for monitoring the yaw angle and yaw velocity. The sensor input is then processed to estimate track curvature and determine the train speed and yaw velocity of the vehicle body. The processor then actuates the alignment rams to adjust the position of the body relative to the frame in response to the track curvature and current frame positions to minimize wheel contact creepage and maximize bogie stability. | 12-30-2010 |

20130034300 | ZERO PASS JPEG BIT RATE CONTROLLER - Embodiments are directed towards compressing an image to substantially a preset file size using statistical information obtained from a single subset of the image and an initial compression of the single subset. A representative subset portion of the image is selected based in part on a clustering analysis of the image. The representative subset is then compressed, in one embodiment, twice, in order to obtain statistics useable for the entire image. A scale factor is then determined that may be used in the quantization and for creating a Bit Rate Control (BRC) curve that represents an amount of accumulated bits per Minimal Codec Unit (MCU). During the compression process, the BRC curve is used to prevent accumulating bits from over shooting a final preset file size target. | 02-07-2013 |
