20090279643UNBIASED SIGNAL-TO-NOISE RATIO ESTIMATION FOR RECEIVER HAVING CHANNEL ESTIMATION ERROR - Apparatus and methods for estimating transmission noise in a programming information signal. Channel noise power in binary phase shift keying (“BPSK”) modulated telecommunication may be estimated. Such a method may include receiving over the channel a reference signal and a data BPSK signal. The data BPSK signal may include the programming information. The method may include formulating a channel transfer function estimate for the channel based on the reference signal. The estimate may include a channel estimation error. The data BPSK signal may be equalized using the transfer function estimate. The data BPSK signal may include noise, which may be quantified in terms of power. The data BPSK signal noise power may be estimated in such a manner that is independent of the channel estimation error.11-12-2009
20110206042SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR IMPLEMENTING A HIGH THROUGHPUT MODE FOR A MOCA DEVICE - Systems and methods for providing a high throughput mode for a MoCA device are provided. An electronic device configured for use as a node in a home network is provided. The electronic device may include a preamble generator block. The preamble generator block may include a time domain preamble generator. The time domain preamble generator may be configured to generate a periodic preamble for a MoCA signal. The preamble generator block may also include a doubling circuit configured to double the periodic preamble. Such doubling may preferably obtain an increased maximum periodic preamble.08-25-2011

20100235848SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR PROVIDING AUTOMATIC ADVERTISING DISTRIBUTION FOR ONLINE COMPUTER USERS - A system and method for providing automatic advertising distribution for online computer users is disclosed. A particular embodiment includes obtaining a listing posted by a first user in a first region; processing the listing according to a set of pre-defined rules related to posting a listing in a second region, the processed listing being modified to produce a second version of the listing; pushing the second version of the listing to a server in the second region; and making the second version of the listing available for viewing by a second user in the second region.09-16-2010
20110029408SYSTEM AND METHOD ENABLING SEARCHING FOR ITEMS, LISTINGS, OR PRODUCTS BASED ON LISTING ACTIVITY - A system and method for providing a listing activity engine for online computer users is disclosed. A particular embodiment includes: accessing a plurality of listings corresponding to items offered on a host site; accessing listing activity level information related to the plurality of listings, the listing activity level information including information indicative of a number of times particular listings of the plurality of listings were viewed or activated; producing search results that include only matched listings of the plurality of listings that were viewed or activated a number of times less than a pre-determined listing activity threshold; and displaying the search results to a user.02-03-2011

20110004110Personalized Monitoring and Healthcare Information Management Using Physiological Basis Functions - Analysis of individual's serial changes, also referred to as the physiological, pathophysiological, medical or health dynamics, is the backbone of medical diagnosis, monitoring and patient healthcare management. However, such an analysis is complicated by enormous intra-individual and inter-individual variability. To address this problem, a novel serial-analysis method and system based on the concept of personalized basis functions (PBFs) is disclosed. Due to more accurate reference information provided by the PBFs, individual's changes associated with specific physiological activity or a sequence, transition or combination of activities (for example, a transition from sleep to wakefulness and transition from rest to exercise) can be monitored more accurately. Hence, subtle but clinically important changes can be detected earlier than using other methods. A library of individual's PBFs and their transition probabilities (which can be described by Hidden Markov Models) can completely describe individual's physiological dynamics. The system can be adapted for healthcare information management, diagnosis, medical decision support, treatment and side-effect control. It can also be adapted for guiding health, fitness and wellness training, subject identification and more efficient management of clinical trials.01-06-2011
20110190598Health Data Dynamics, Its Sources and Linkage with Genetic/Molecular Tests - Method and system for the analysis and source localization of the dynamical patterns in medical and health data, and linking such dynamical patterns with the individual's genetic and/or molecular data. The invention makes use of optimally positioned sensors (sensor arrays) providing input data for signal processing, time-series analysis, pattern recognition and mathematical modeling to facilitate dynamical tracking of systemic arterial pressure without a pressure cuff, local vascular activity, electrocardiographic (ECG), respiratory, physical, muscular, gastrointestinal and neural activity, temperature and other physiological/health data. The invention also facilitates separation of local signals (such as local aneurisms or local vascular activity) from non-local, central or systemic patterns (e.g. systemic blood pressure). In addition, the invention improves identification of dynamical patterns associated with a specific genotype/disorder for screening, personalized risk assessment, diagnosis and treatment control. The system can be implemented in a specialized processor, such as an ambulatory blood pressure monitor, Electrocardiograph, Holter monitor located outside subject's body or implanted inside the body, mobile/cell phone or Smart Phone/Personal Digital Assistant, computer or computer network (the Internet), including wireless or mobile network. The system can be also linked to the electronic health/medical records and other databases.08-04-2011
