20140348391 | SNOW CLASSIFIER CONTEXT WINDOW REDUCTION USING CLASS T-SCORES AND MEAN DIFFERENCES - Methods, systems and processor-readable media for determining, post training, which locations of a classifier window are most significant in discriminating between class and non-class objects. The important locations can be determined by calculating the mean and standard deviation of every pixel location in the classifier context for both the positive and negative samples of the classifier. Using a combination of t-scores and mean differences, the importance of all pixel locations in the classifier score can be rank ordered. A sufficient number of pixel locations can then be selected to achieve a detection rate close enough to the full classifier for a particular application. | 11-27-2014 |

20090161126 | METHOD FOR UPSAMPLING COLOR CORRECTION TABLES, AN APPARATUS FOR CREATING AN UPSAMPLED COLOR CORRETION TABLE, AND A PROGRAM FOR UPSAMPLING COLOR CORRECTION TABLES - A method of forming a multidimensional upsampled table, which includes a plurality of upsampled contents and a plurality of upsampled columns and a plurality of upsampled rows, includes reading a multidimensional unsampled table having a plurality of unsampled content values. The multidimensional unsampled table has a plurality of unsampled columns and a plurality of unsampled rows. The multidimensional unsampled table is monotonic in the plurality of unsampled columns and is monotonic in the plurality of unsampled rows. The method further includes performing a Piecewise Cubic Hermite Interpolating Polynomial (PCHIP) interpolation to upsample the multidimensional unsampled table and to create the multidimensional upsampled table, and storing the multidimensional upsampled table. 20090161183 | OPTIMAL NODE PLACEMENT FOR MULTI-DIMENSIONAL PROFILE LUTS FOR ARBITRARY MEDIA AND HALFTONES USING PARAMETERIZED MINIMIZATION - A method and system for optimal node placement of a color correction table first generate a high resolution color correction table. A low resolution color correction table is generated. Each node of the low resolution color correction table has a corresponding color correction value generated by interpolating the color correction values of the high resolution color correction table. A reconstructed color correction table is generated, and each of the nodes of the reconstructed color correction table has a corresponding color correction value generated by interpolating the color correction values of the low resolution color correction table using an interpolation method identical to an output device interpolation method. Differences between the color correction values of the reconstructed and the high resolution color correction table are quantified into a measure of error, and the node locations of the low resolution color correction table are adjusted, and the procedure is repeated. | 06-25-2009 |
20100177115 | METHOD AND SYSTEM OF CYCLICAL SCREEN ROTATION FOR NEAR UNITY SCALED PRINTER VIDEO DATA - A method for enabling near unity scaling of printer video data to provide compensation for paper shrinkage caused during duplex printing. To achieve high quality image output, near neighbor interpolation may be used at very high resolutions. However, the insertion of extra interpolated subpixels may cause an edge transition to be shifted away from its original subpixel location with respect to an applied anti-aliasing rendering screen thereby causing ragged edges. The method aligns the edge position and the anti-aliasing rendering screen by applying a cyclical rotation of the screen. | 07-15-2010 |
20110109918 | CONTROLLING PLACEMENT AND MINIMIZING DISTORTION OF IMAGES IN AN IMAGING DEVICE - What is disclosed is a novel system and method to control an imaging device. A first collection of a plurality of two-dimensional image points in a first vector space for a source image and a second collection of a plurality of two-dimensional image points in a second vector space for a target image are received. The first collection of two-dimensional image points and the second collection of two-dimensional image points are converted into a homogenous form to apply affine matrix transformations. A matrix transformation is solved to map the first collection of the plurality of two-dimensional image points to the second collection of the plurality of two-dimensional image points. The matrix transformation is used to adjust distortion of the target image in an imaging device. | 05-12-2011 |
20110313707 | CORRECTING IN-LINE SPECTROPHOTOMETER MEASUREMENTS IN THE PRESENCE OF A BANDING DEFECT - What is disclosed is a novel system and method for detecting and correcting for In-Line-Spectrophotometer (ILS) measurements of constant value patches in the presence of banding in multi-function document reproduction systems. The present system analyzes the ILS data stream to identify structured noise components due to banding. An FFT is performed on each L*a*b* component in the ILS stream for a single test page. The peak frequencies from the FFT of the L* a* and b* channels are compared. Common frequencies in all 3 channels indicate a banding component. Once the banding frequencies and the banding wavelength are known, the color patch target can be adjusted to ensure the color patches are synchronized to the banding wavelength. By running a series of synchronized patches and averaging results, structured noise can be eliminated. In such a manner, a reduction of banding effects on color calibration can be effectuated. | 12-22-2011 |
