20090076556 | TRANSBUCCAL PLATE HOLDING CANNULA - The present invention relates to a transbuccal plate holding cannula used in osteofixation procedures. The transbuccal plate holding cannula of the present invention can be releasably secured to a bone plate such that tools and fasteners may be passed through the plate holding cannula in order to secure the bone plate to a bone. | 03-19-2009 |
20100042102 | Craniofacial Fracture Reduction Assembly - A Craniofacial Fracture Reduction Assembly is disclosed, the assembly providing a surgeon with precise control over the surgical reduction of fractured craniofacial bone pieces. The fracture reduction assembly may include a reduction platform, and a threaded fragment manipulator. The reduction platform has top and bottom surfaces and at least one receiving hole in communication therewith. The receiving hole is configured to accept a fragment manipulator. The fragment manipulator may comprise an elongated member having a bone engaging portion for engaging a targeted fractured bone piece and a center threaded portion. Working in combination with a reduction nut, the fragment manipulator provides accurate control over the fragment reduction vector. In use, the bone engaging end of the fragment manipulator is inserted through the receiving hole in the reduction platform and then into the fracture region where it engages the targeted fractured bone piece. Thereafter a reduction nut is threaded onto the non-engaged end of the fragment manipulator until the nose of the nut contacts the reduction platform. Continued rotation of the nut causes the fragment manipulator to be drawn up through the reduction nut, pulling the bone fragment toward the reduction platform, thereby reducing the fracture. Also disclosed is an adjustable support assembly, which may be used to position the reduction platform in a wide variety of locations above the fracture region. | 02-18-2010 |
20110144698 | Mandibular Fixation Plate - A bone fixation implant is provided that includes a bone fixation plate and a plurality of fasteners. The bone fixation plate corresponds generally to stress lines imparted onto the mandible during anatomical function of the mandible. Thus, the bone fixation plate includes a primary leg and an auxiliary leg extending obliquely out from the primary leg. | 06-16-2011 |
20110152946 | FLEXIBLE MAXILLO-MANDIBULAR FIXATION DEVICE - A system for achieving maxillo-mandibular fixation includes a bone fixation device including a bone fixation body formed from a plurality of links. The links define corresponding crests and valleys so as to impart flexibility into the bone fixation body. Thus, the bone fixation body can be aligned with the dental arch of the mandible and maxilla as necessary, and subsequently fastened to the underlying bone. Each bone fixation device includes at least one securement location on the fixation body that can attach to a securement device, such that the securement device fixes or stabilizes the mandible and the maxilla with respect to each other. | 06-23-2011 |
20140051980 | Simulated Bone or Tissue Manipulation - A tissue manipulation system includes Programmable Markers configured to be implanted on opposite sides of one or more portions of tissue within a patient's body, Markers communicating with one another to enable a determination of their relative positions and External Device receiving and transmitting signals to Markers containing information as to Marker's positions. Device is configured to: capture an image of the tissue portions with Markers; manipulate the image of the tissue portions in a virtual environment or a simulated environment to a desired restored orientation; determine desired positions Markers will have when the tissue portions are in the desired restored orientation; program implanted Markers with the desired orientations. Device generates an indicator signal upon Markers being manipulated into the desired orientations; and manipulate the tissue portions after Markers have been programmed, until an indicator signal is generated indicating that the desired restored orientation has been substantially achieved. | 02-20-2014 |
20150257805 | Mandibular Fixation Plate - A bone fixation implant is provided that includes a bone fixation plate and a plurality of fasteners. The bone fixation plate corresponds generally to stress lines imparted onto the mandible during anatomical function of the mandible. Thus, the bone fixation plate includes a primary leg and an auxiliary leg extending obliquely out from the primary leg. | 09-17-2015 |
20150282892 | Simulated Bone or Tissue Manipulation - The present invention is directed to a system and method for performing tissue, preferably bone tissue manipulation. The system and method may include implanting markers on opposite sides of a bone, fractured bone or tissue to facilitate bone or tissue manipulation, preferably in-situ closed fracture reduction. The markers are preferably configured to be detected by one or more devices, such as, for example, a detection device so that the detection device can determine the relative relationship of the markers. The markers may also be capable of transmitting and receiving signals. An image may be captured of the bone or tissue and the attached markers. From the captured image, the orientation of each marker relative to the bone fragment may be determined. Next, the captured image may be manipulated in a virtual or simulated environment until a desired restored orientation has been achieved. The orientation of the markers in the desired restored orientation may then be determined. The desired relationship between markers may then be programmed into, for example, the detection device. Next, actual physical reduction and/or manipulation of the bone may begin. During the manipulation procedure, the orientation of the markers may be continuously monitored and when the markers substantially align with the virtual or simulated orientation of the markers in the desired restored orientation, an indicator signal is transmitted. | 10-08-2015 |
20150313746 | FLEXIBLE MAXILLO-MANDIBULAR FIXATION DEVICE - A system for achieving maxillo-mandibular fixation includes a bone fixation device including a bone fixation body formed from a plurality of links. | 11-05-2015 |
