20090092088Synchronous Two-Phase Rate and Power Control in WLANs - A method for operation of a node operating in a wireless network comprising the steps of during an initial phase, setting transmission power and data transmission rate to initial settings and transmitting the initial settings to the wireless network in order to initiate communication with said wireless network during a reference phase once communication with the wireless network is established by the initial phase, transmitting at maximum power while performing a rate adaptation and at least one variable estimation and during an operational phase, transmitting at a power level that is optimal for transmission based on information obtained from the reference phase.04-09-2009
20100054143UPLINK CONNECTIVITY FOR MOBILE CLIENTS - Methods and apparatus are provided for uplink connectivity for mobile clients. An apparatus in a mobile client includes an antenna for transmitting and receiving wireless signals, and an uplink connectivity manager for dividing an uplink transmission for each client location into an exploration phase and an operational phase.03-04-2010
20100056059SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR ADAPTIVE BEAMFORMING IN INDOOR WIRELESS NETWORKS - Systems and methods are disclosed for transmitting signals between a transmitter and a receiver by differentially estimating channel coefficients for each of the antenna elements relative to a reference antenna element; determining beam weights to remove oscillator induced phase or offset; and applying a correction (beamforming solution) at the transmitter to make the phase of the received signal from different antenna elements to be coherently combined at the receiver.03-04-2010
20100172292Wireless Network Connectivity in Data Centers - A method for wireless network connectivity in a data center includes communicating between nodes in a data center across a wireless interconnectivity through artificially created paths between nodes in the data center, the nodes being at least one of a server, router, switch, and other such components in the data center that require connectivity; and managing the wireless interconnectivity by a control and management entity.07-08-2010
20100189063METHODS AND SYSTEMS FOR RATE MATCHING AND RATE SHAPING IN A WIRELESS NETWORK - Rate matching and rate shaping methods and systems for managing data traffic on wireless channels are disclosed. Rate matching embodiments dynamically determine downlink video data transmission rates based on frame decoding deadlines and frame sizes. In addition, if the channel capacity cannot support the video data transmission rate, the rate matcher can adjust the video stream accordingly so that it is supportable by the channel capacity. In turn, rate shaping implementations can tailor the transmission rate shaping based on the state of the wireless data channel. Shaper operations can be specifically adapted to a saturated state of the wireless channel, to an unsaturated state of the wireless channel and to transitions between the unsaturated and saturated states.07-29-2010

20090310783Controlled Dissemination of Information in Mobile Networks - The present invention discloses systems and methods for controlled dissemination of information in mobile networks using encrypted broadcasts that are decrypted at the device. An encryption key is generated corresponding to a particular category or granularity of information. The information is encrypted before it is broadcast to the sector. A user within the sector sends a key request across the network, in response to which the encryption key is sent to the user. The user can decrypt the encrypted information received in the broadcast. Additionally, a credit-checking mechanism may be employed to ensure that the user has sufficient credit to purchase the key. In one embodiment, the information to be disseminated is divided into a plurality of categories, wherein each category corresponds to a granularity of information. The encryption key is one in a set of encryption keys, each of said set of encryption keys being assigned to a particular hierarchical level corresponding to a particular granularity of information.12-17-2009
20110250900METHOD AND SYSTEM FOR ACCOUNTABLE RESOURCE ALLOCATION IN CELLULAR AND BROADBAND NETWORKS - A method includes receiving information flows between users into a basestation of a cellular network, applying a usage accountability framework responsive to predetermined user fairness metrics, bandwidth resources on the network and a history of channel bandwidth variations by the users, and executing bandwidth allocation for the flows between the users responsive to the applying an accountability framework for improving user experience on the network by the users.10-13-2011

20080313328METHOD AND SYSTEM FOR BACKGROUND REPLICATION OF DATA OBJECTS - In an embodiment, a system and method may manage network resources to provide a near zero-cost background replication of data. Such a system may be inhibited from causing interference with foreground data flows. Such a system may also utilize a large fraction of spare network bandwidth. A system configured to implement such a method may include one or more servers and at least one client in communication via a to network. Additionally the system may include a hint server, a monitor and/or a front-end application between a demand server and the network.12-18-2008
