20140047851 | BULK FREEZING OF BIOPHARMACEUTICALS - A system and method for bulk freezing is provided. In one embodiment, the system and method for bulk freezing includes a bulk freezing container adapted to hold at least one and preferably a plurality of bags holding a biopharmaceutical liquid. The bulk freezing container includes at least a first and second shelf having corrugations wherein the second shelf is vertically arranged above the first shelf with the bags disposed between the shelves. The bags and the corrugations of the first and second shelves define a plurality of substantially parallel flow channels through which a cryogenic cold fluid or a warming fluid is passed to freeze and/or thaw the biopharmaceutical fluid. In another embodiment, the bulk freezing system and method includes a bulk freezing container with a plurality of adjacent elongated chambers adapted for holding the biopharmaceutical fluid. The adjacent elongated chambers have side walls defining a plurality of substantially parallel flow channels between the plurality of adjacent elongated chambers through which a heat transfer medium is passed for heat exchange through the side walls of the elongated chambers to the fluid within the elongated chambers. | 02-20-2014 |

20140135972 | Control Module for Deposition of Optical Thin Films - The deposition controller controls a coating machine used in the deposition of the thin film coatings. The deposition controller is particularly useful for the deposition of multiple layers or co-deposition of multiple materials. The integrated system is a single hardware unit controlled by the software residing on the local computer. The single unit combines the functionality of a deposition controller, mass flow controller, quartz crystal controller, optical monitor chip change controller, and an optical monitor signal analyzer. The integrated system utilizes a Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) for the purpose of controlling the deposition process. A run sheet file is used by the system to create a set of process parameters. The system also examines a run sheet file at the time of its opening for its integrity with respect to the minimum layer optical thickness requirement expressed in terms of QWOT (quarter wave optical thickness). The controller utilizes an optimized polynomial regression function technique for the accurate layer termination while monitoring the reflection or transmission function and calculating its first and second derivatives to eliminate false termination points. | 05-15-2014 |
20150043002 | Dielectric-Enhanced Metal Coatings for MEMS Tunable Filters - The present invention concerns the use of hybrid metal-dielectric optical coatings as the end reflectors of laser cavities and/or in the mirror structures used in other optical resonators, such as Fabry-Perot tunable filters, along with the use of such Fabry-Perot tunable filters in wavelength swept sources such as lasers. Hybrid metal-dielectric optical coatings have reflectivity spectra that can be broader than pure dielectric coatings, offer optical reflectivities higher than metal, as high as pure dielectric coatings, eliminate mirror transmission that can cause parasitic light reflections, and use fewer layers and thus have lower mass and higher mechanical resonant frequency for movable mirror applications An important characteristic of these coatings concerns the non-reflected light. Pure dielectric coatings offer high reflectivity, while the non-reflected portion of the light is transmitted by the coating to the substrate, for example. When metal is added to the optical coating, the non-reflected portion of the light is absorbed by the metal and is not transmitted to the substrate or outside the cavity. Hybrid metal-dielectric coatings have broader and more uniform spectral reflection. Tunable lasers with performance enhanced by the hybrid metal-dielectric coatings can be used in optical coherence tomography and spectroscopic analysis applications. | 02-12-2015 |

20130251444 | EYE BOLT - An eye bolt, comprising a lifting eye and a supporting bolt, wherein the supporting bolt sits, rotatable, in an insertion opening of the lifting eye and comprises, a threaded shaft and a bolt head. The supporting bolt protrudes radially from the lifting eye and is supported by an underside of the lifting eye, on a bearing surface formed on the lifting eye and running around the insertion opening. The eye bolt further comprises at least one locking member which can be brought into engagement with the bolt head and by means of which, in a locking position of same, the bolt head can be rotationally blocked vis-à-vis the lifting eye. The at least one locking member is further attached to the lifting eye radially next to the bolt head and is secured there, wherein the at least one locking member can be brought into a starting position, in which it is not engaged with the bolt head, and also into the locking position rotationally blocking the supporting bolt relative to the lifting eye. | 09-26-2013 |
