20140120157 | TARGETED LIPOSOMES - The present invention is in the field of drug delivery, and specifically, cationic liposome-based drug delivery. In embodiments, this invention provides methods of making ligand-targeted (e.g., antibody- or antibody fragment-targeted) liposomes useful for the delivery of liposomes to tumors, including brain tumors. In embodiments, the liposomes deliver temozolomide across the blood-brain barrier for treatment of primary or metastatic brain tumors. Additional cancers that can be treated with the liposomes include neuroendocrine tumors, melanoma, prostate, head and neck, ovarian, lung, liver, kidney, breast, urogenital, gastric, colorectal, cervical, vaginal, angiosarcoma, liposarcoma, rhabdomyosarcoma, choriocarcinoma, pancreatic, retinoblastoma and other types of cancer. In another embodiment the liposomes deliver melphalan for the treatment of multiple myeloma, other tumors of the blood or other solid tumors. In still other embodiments the liposomes can deliver other drugs such as pemetrexed or irinotecan for treatment of cancer or drugs including atropine for treatment of organophosphate poisoning. | 05-01-2014 |

20110275077 | Oligonucleotide-Coated Affinity Membranes and Uses Thereof - A method of analyzing tissue sections in a manner that provides information about the presence and expression levels of multiple biomarkers at each location within the tissue section. The method comprises the preparation of membranes having covalently bound oligonucleotides and the use of those membranes for evaluation of various markers in the sample. The membranes may be arranged in stacks, wherein each layer has a different oligonucleotide capture strand. Transfer oligonucleotides complementary to the capture strands are attached through a cleavable bond to antibodies that recognize and bind to specific biomarkers present in the tissue sample. The tissue sample is exposed to the antibody-transfer strand conjugate and then treated with a cleaving reagent. Upon cleavage, the transfer strand migrates through the stack and binds to the capture strand. The level of expression of the biomarker may be determined by measuring expression of a reporter on the transfer strand. | 11-10-2011 |

20140214944 | INCORPORATION OF CONTENT FROM AN EXTERNAL FOLLOWED USER WITHIN A SOCIAL NETWORKING SYSTEM - A following user follows a followed user on a third-party application. The followed user may additionally approve the inclusion of content posted by the followed user on the third-party application within an account of any following users on the social networking system. Subsequent postings by the followed user on the third-party application cause the third-party application to notify the social networking system of the posting. The social networking system in turn incorporates the posting of the followed user on the third-party application into a user interface that it displays to the following user. | 07-31-2014 |
20140222911 | IDENTIFYING INTERACTIONS BY SOCIAL NETWORKING SYSTEM USERS WITH IDENTIFIED ACTIONS PERFORMED OUTSIDE OF THE SOCIAL NETWORKING SYSTEM - Third-party systems outside of a social networking system allow a user of the third-party systems that is also a user of the social networking system to perform an action on the third-party system that are communicated to the social-networking system. Additional actions on the third-party system may be associated with the action. These additional actions are communicated to the social networking system, which identifies the action from the third-party system and associates the additional actions with the identified action. The social networking system may notify the user that performed the action of the additional actions. Also, the social networking system may notify additional social networking system users of the action and of additional actions on the third-party system associated with the action. | 08-07-2014 |

20130179502 | Creating and Sharing Interest Lists in a Social Networking System - A social networking service allows a user of the service to create an interest list associated with a topic of interest, where the interest list includes members that may post content via the social networking service. Members of the interest list may post content associated with the topic. Other users of the social network service may subscribe to the list, and these subscribers may then receive a feed that contains the content posted by the members of the interest list. | 07-11-2013 |
20130290414 | AUTOMATICALLY CREATING GROUPS OF USERS IN A SOCIAL NETWORKING SYSTEM - A social networking system facilitates a user's creation of a group of other users from among the user's connections in the user's social network. The created groups may be used, for example, to publish information to certain user-defined groups or to define privacy settings or other access rights to the user's content according to such user-defined groups. When a user adds connections to a group, the social networking system determines a characteristic associated with the group and identifies whether the characteristic is specified in user profiles of the added connections. If the user profiles lack the characteristic, the social networking system suggests to the connections to update their user profiles with the characteristic. | 10-31-2013 |
