COMPRESSION SPRING WING DEPLOYMENT INITIATOR - A wing deploy initiator for deploying guidance wings of a rocket or missile, such as the APKWS, provides enhanced wing deploy performance with reduced complexity, cost, and likelihood of failure. The invention includes a cam which is driven between the stowed guidance wings by at least one compression spring, thereby forcing the guidance wings outward through slots in the fuselage of the rocket or missile. Oblique flat sides of the cam can push against beveled edges on the wings. The cam can be attached to spring mandrels, and the cam and mandrels can pass through a retaining plate as the springs decompress. Embodiments can exert sufficient push force to enable the wings to break through frangible slot covers. An embodiment applicable to the APKWS includes only 13 parts, and can exert up to 10 lb push force on each wing after 0.3 inches of wing travel. | 03-29-2012

System for Assisting Solar Power Generation - A system for assisting solar power generation contains several racks for fastening power conversion modules. The racks each have a pivot axis and are mounted for pivotal movement about the pivot axis. The racks each have a lever, a movement of the lever causing a respective one of the racks to pivot. A coupling rod is provided on which the levers are each carried for rotation. The coupling rod couple the levers of the racks together and are further coupled to a linear drive unit so that the racks may be caused to pivot together through an action of the linear drive unit. A common mounting configuration mounts the racks so as to have the pivot axis carried on the common mounting configuration. The linear drive unit has a first end hinge-linked to the common mounting configuration and a second end hinge-linked to the coupling rod. | 06-18-2009

TREKKING POLE CLAMP AND METHODS - A clamp apparatus that includes a base portion and an adjustable clamping lever. The base portion defines an adjustable size aperture. The adjustable clamping lever is mounted to the base portion and is movable between an unlatched position and a latched position. The adjustable clamping lever has a length that is adjustable to clamp the base portion to elongate members having a cross-section. The adjustable clamping lever may include at least two link members. One of the link members may have an adjustable length. | 07-08-2010
TENT POLE CONNECTION SYSTEM AND METHODS - A tent pole assembly that includes first and second pole sections, first and second inserts, and a projection member. Each of the pole sections includes an open end. The first and second inserts are positionable into the open ends of the first and second pole sections, respectively. The projection member is insertable into the first and second inserts to releasably connect the first and second pole sections together. | 12-15-2011
SHOCK ABSORBING SYSTEM FOR TREKKING POLES - A trekking pole assembly includes a trekking pole and a handle assembly mounted to the trekking pole. The handle assembly includes a handle housing with an interior cavity and a shock absorbing member secured within the interior cavity. The handle housing has a top end and a bottom end, an opening defined in the bottom end, and at least one lateral opening. The shock absorbing member is positioned in the handle housing and interposed between the handle housing and the trekking pole. A portion of the shock absorbing member is displaceable through the at least one lateral opening. | 01-19-2012

Method and apparatus for gravimetrically metering pourable or flowable material to be weighed - An apparatus and a method for gravimetrically metering pourable or flowable material to be weighed are provided. A container holds the material to be weighed and a weighing device detects the weight of the container. A first actuator fills the container located on the weighing device with the material to be weighed and a second actuator empties the container or places the empty container on the weighing device. Further, a control device for generating control signals for the actuators is provided. A signal filter with a variable filter characteristic filters the weighing signal delivered by the weighing device. A filter matching device, controlled by the control device, matches the filter characteristic as a function of the control signals to various predetermined filter characteristics. | 10-28-2010
