A processor in the RF unit is responsive to control signaling indicating a desired transmitter or receiver configuration (e.g., a particular frequency, bandwidth and modulation), to attenuate the signal in the transmitter/receiver path based on the predetermined calibration factors from the applicable modules. A method for calibrating the modules is also disclosed. | 07-29-2010 |

20080216462 | SOLID PROPELLANT BURN RATE, PROPELLANT GAS FLOW RATE, AND PROPELLANT GAS PRESSURE PULSE GENERATION CONTROL SYSTEM AND METHOD - Systems and methods of controlling solid propellant burn rate, propellant gas pressure, propellant gas pressure pulse shape, and propellant gas flow rate, rely on pulse width modulation of a control valve duty cycle. A control valve that is movable between a closed position and a full-open position is disposed downstream of, and in fluid communication with, a solid propellant gas generator. The solid propellant in the solid propellant gas generator is ignited, to thereby generate propellant gas. The control valve is moved between the closed position and the full-open position at an operating frequency and with a valve duty cycle. The valve duty cycle is the ratio of a time the control valve is in the full-open position to a time it takes the valve to complete one movement cycle at the operating frequency. The valve duty cycle is controlled to attain a desired solid propellant burn rate, propellant gas pressure, propellant gas pressure pulse shape, and/or propellant gas flow rate. | 09-11-2008 |

20140065711 | SMALL MOLECULE-DEPENDENT INTEINS AND USES THEREOF - Elucidating the function of proteins in mammalian cells is particularly challenging due to the inherent complexity of these systems. Methods to study protein function in living cells ideally perturb the activity of only the protein of interest but otherwise maintain the natural state of the host cell or organism. Ligand-dependent inteins offer single-protein specificity and other desirable features as an approach to control protein function in cells post-translationally. Some aspects of this invention provide second-generation ligand-dependent inteins that splice to substantially higher yields and with faster kinetics in the presence of the cell-permeable small molecule 4-HT, especially at 37° C., while exhibiting comparable or improved low levels of background splicing in the absence of 4-HT, as compared to the parental inteins. These improvements were observed in four protein contexts tested in mammalian cells at 37° C., as well as in yeast cells assayed at 30° C. or 37° C. The newly evolved inteins described herein are therefore promising tools as conditional modulators of protein structure and function in yeast and mammalian cells. | 03-06-2014 |

20120254141 | COLOR HARMONY WITH PROCESS AND ENVIRONMENTAL FEEDBACK - A computerized system and method for analyzing color consistency on automotive parts and for providing feedback on painting processes occurring in an assembly plant. The system and method facilitates data collection and analysis at numerous points during the assembly paint processes and the identification of possible adjustments so that parts are painted within a specified tolerance. Body and bumper parts are measured during an inspection process. Measurement and colorimetric data is stored in association with an identifier for the body part or bumper. Measurements relate to equipment and paint mix variables as well as environmental variables that influence the paint results. A software application facilitates analysis of the data and troubleshooting possible causes for color discrepancies. As the color trends away from a specified standard, paint process, including environmental, changes are made, prior to the painting of parts in the bumper or body so that color mismatches are prevented. | 10-04-2012 |
