20080307860Detector for Distinguishing Phases in a Multiphase Fluid Mixture - A detector (12-18-2008
20100145634SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR SPOT CHECK ANALYSIS OR SPOT SAMPLING OF A MULTIPHASE MIXTURE FLOWING IN A PIPELINE - This disclosure relates in general to systems and methods for spot checking flow properties of a multiphase mixture containing one or more hydrocarbons flowing through a pipeline or the like. More specifically, but not by way of limitation, embodiments of the present invention provide systems and methods for creating slug-type flows of isokinetically obtained samples of the multiphase mixture flow. By spot checking the slug-type flow of an isokinetically obtained sample of the multiphase flow, embodiments of the present invention may provide for determining flow properties of gas, oil/condensate and/or water components of the multiphase flow. In certain aspects of the present invention, an active sampling device may be used to enrich one of the phases of the slug-type flow of the sampled multiphase mixture and/or take a representative sample of one of the phases of the slug-type flow of the sampled multiphase mixture.06-10-2010
20100253933IN-LINE MERCURY DETECTOR FOR HYDROCARBON AND NATURAL GAS - A method and a device are presented for measuring the mercury content of hydrocarbon and natural gases in a continuous mode and in-situ in a gas production line in a real time mode, comprising diverting a gas sample from the gas production line in an optical flexible measuring cell for optical detection of the mercury present in the gas production line.10-07-2010
20100299078CHROMATOGRAPHY DATA PROCESSING METHOD AND SYSTEM - A configurable scanner (11-25-2010
20110011156NATURAL GAS ANALYZER ON A MICRO-CHIP - A miniaturized gas analyzer formed onto a micro-chip and a method of separating components from a composite gas using the miniaturized gas analyzer are disclosed. The gas analyzer includes an injector block and two column blocks arranged in series along an analytical path. The injector block receives the composite gas and a carrier gas to create a gas sample. The gas sample is then injected into the column blocks to separate the components of the composite gas. Further, a valve used within the miniaturized gas analyzer is disclosed, in which the valve is formed onto the micro-chip and includes a flexible membrane and a rigid substrate.01-20-2011
20110040501REAL-TIME MEASUREMENT OF RESERVOIR FLUID PROPERTIES - A system, method, and fluid analysis module are provided for the real-time analysis of multiphase fluids. The system generally comprises means for directing a fluid stream from a flow line to a fluid analysis module, a processor and communication means. The fluid analysis module comprises sensor for measurement of at least one property of the fluid. The processor processes the measurement data from the sensor, and the communication means communicates the processed data to a central acquisition unit or computer.02-17-2011
20110061475 Sampling Apparatus - A sampling apparatus for sampling a fluid enriched in a selected phase from a multiphase fluid mixture flowing into a main pipe, the multiphase fluid mixture containing at least the selected phase and one other phase, the apparatus comprising: —a sampling arrangement: for taking a fluid sample of the multiphase fluid mixture flowing into the main pipe, —a sample chamber having a variable volume for collecting the fluid sample of the multiphase fluid mixture and letting settle by gravity the fluid sample into the fluid enriched in the selected phase and at least another phase enriched fluid, and —a valve manifold coupling the sampling arrangement to the sample chamber for driving the fluid sample in the sample chamber and for driving the fluid enriched in the selected phase to a sample outlet and the other phase enriched fluid back to the main pipe.03-17-2011
20110185809UNIVERSAL FLASH SYSTEM AND APPARATUS FOR PETROLEUM RESERVOIR FLUIDS STUDY - A flash system and method is disclosed to control the rate of flashing a reservoir fluid sample from reservoir conditions to a given pressure and temperature in order to produce a liquid and a gas phase of the sample. The flash system comprises a flash apparatus including a separating chamber, a metering valve positioned at an inlet of the separating chamber, and a gas flow meter positioned at an outlet of the separating chamber. A pump is provided to displace the sample from a sample chamber to the flash apparatus, wherein the pump speed and the discharge rate of the metering valve can be automatically controlled. The flash system may be used in a laboratory environment and at the site of an oilfield reservoir. The present disclosure provides a universal flash system and method that can limit operator actions to a minimum of simple operations to ensure the repeatability of the process independent of the operator's skill.08-04-2011
