20080234729Suture lock fastening device - A suture lock fastening device to cinch a suture in a suture lock, cut the suture end, and deploy the suture lock in response to a single movement of a user. The fastening device includes a fastening head with a retainer that is configured to hold a suture lock in the fastening head. To release the suture lock from the fastening head, the retainer is irreversibly deformed. The fastening device may include an axially movable cutter with a cutting edge to sever the ends of the suture close to the suture lock. A threading device may be preloaded into the fastening device to facilitate threading the suture through the fastening device.09-25-2008
20080249534METHOD AND DEVICE FOR DISTENDING A GYNECOLOGICAL CAVITY - Method and device for distending a gynecological cavity. According to one embodiment, a mechanical, non-fluid device is used to distend the gynecological cavity. Such devices include, for example, self-expanding members, such as resilient baskets, coils, whisks, prongs, and loops, or mechanically expanded members, such as inflatable balloons, mechanically-expanded cages and loops, and scissor jacks. The device may serve a purpose in addition to distension, such as illumination, imaging, irrigation, drug delivery, resection and cauterization.10-09-2008
20080249553METHOD, SYSTEM AND DEVICE FOR TISSUE REMOVAL - A method and device for tissue removal. The device may be used to remove uterine fibroids and other abnormal gynecological tissue. According to one embodiment, the device includes a housing, an outer tube, and an inner tube. The outer tube is fixed to the housing and includes a side window proximate to its distal end. The side window may have sloped proximal and distal ends. The inner tube has a distal end positioned within the outer tube, the distal end being adapted to rotate and, at the same time, to move back and forth past the side window, with the rotational and translational movement of the inner tube being independently controllable. The distal end of the inner tube may have an external bevel. Suction is applied to the proximal end of the inner tube to draw tissue into the side window and to remove resected tissue through the inner tube.10-09-2008
20080269852Methods and Apparatus for Thermal Regulation of a Body - A thermal regulation system includes a thermal exchange collar for application to a neck of a patient, a thermal regulation pad for application to a body region, such as an axilla region of the patient, and a thermal regulation cap for application to a head of the patient.10-30-2008
20090118753ROTARY-ACTUATED MEDICAL PUNCTURING DEVICE - The medical puncturing device includes an actuator, a shield, and a skin puncturing assembly. The actuator and shield are movable relative to one another. The skin puncturing assembly includes a carrier and a skin puncturing element. A distal end of the skin puncturing element is adapted for puncturing the skin of a patient. The carrier is movable from a retracted position wherein the distal end of the skin puncturing element is disposed within the shield to a puncturing position wherein the distal end of the skin puncturing element is exposed to puncture the skin of a patient. The carrier is maintained in the retracted position by interference engagement between the carrier and shield. A drive spring is provided to move the carrier from the retracted to puncturing positions. A retraction spring is provided to return the carrier to a position wherein the shield encompasses the skin puncturing element.05-07-2009
20100100074IMPLANTABLE CATHETHER AND METHOD OF USING SAME - A catheter for implantation into a patient having a catheter tube having a distal end, a means for trimming the distal end of the catheter tube after subcutaneous insertion of the tip of the catheter lumen into a desired position within the patient to form a trimmed end portion, and a means for selectively positioning each respective lumen of the trimmed end portion of the catheter tube into fluid communication with the respective first end of one attachment tube. The attachment tube is select fluid communication with a desired medical device.04-22-2010
20100174143DUAL SEAL WITH BELLOWS - A seal assembly which includes a housing defining a longitudinal axis, a proximal portion and a distal portion and including a bellows disposed along a length thereof. A first sealing membrane and a second sealing membrane associated with the proximal portion of the housing, each sealing membrane configured to create a substantially fluid-tight seal around a surgical instrument inserted therethrough. The bellows configured to allow at least a portion of the housing to move radially with respect to the longitudinal axis.07-08-2010
20110112438Squeeze Activated Medical Puncturing Device - The medical puncturing device (05-12-2011
20110124963DEVICES AND METHODS FOR FASTENING TISSUE LAYERS - Endoscopic devices and methods used for fastening multiple tissue layers, such as, for example, an endoscopic fundoplication procedure, are disclosed. The device may include, for example, an elongated tubular member having a proximal end for extending outside of the body and a distal end for positioning proximate the multiple tissue layers, a grasper configured for positioning proximate the distal end of the tubular member and for grasping at least one of the multiple tissue layers, a device coupled to the distal end of the tubular member for folding the multiple tissue layers together, a tissue fastener configured to be inserted into the tissue layers to hold the tissue layers together, and a fastener head for inserting the tissue fastener into the tissue layers.05-26-2011
