The gas feed stream suitably has a moderate concentration of carbon dioxide, such as gas emitted from the filling bowl of the carbonated drinks bottling plant and is recovered without rinsing or purging the adsorbent with a high purity carbon dioxide gas stream. The process therefore provides the advantage of being capturing carbon dioxide from the effluent that would otherwise be emitted to the atmosphere and captures the carbon dioxide in a manner that minimises operational and capital expenditure.
