20080196910ELECTRICAL SENSING DEVICE MODULES FOR ATTACHMENT TO POWER TOOLS AND DRILLS - A power hand drill or other power tool includes at least one of a detachable non-contact voltage sensing device and a detachable subsurface object locator for detecting the presence of an object beneath a surface being probed with the locator. The drill has a housing with a flat accessory mounting surface including coupling elements for coupling the sensing module to the drill. The accessory device includes a mating coupling element to engage with the coupling element in the drill housing. The non-contact voltage sensing circuitry includes sensing circuitry contained within a housing with an antenna that is positioned opposite a tool head of the power tool, and an indicator mounted to the module for indicating the presence of a voltage.08-21-2008
20080235954Utility Knife - A hand tool with a cable jacket ripper in a housing of the tool is provided. The cable jacket ripper includes an opening with a blade presenting a cutting edge. Rotating the housing relative to a cable engages the blade with the jacket of the cable to pierce the jacket. Thereafter, the cable may be slit longitudinally by the hand tool and the blade. The hand tool may be a utility knife with a cutting blade positioned at an end of the utility knife opposite the cable jacket ripper.10-02-2008
20080305675INSULATION DISPLACEMENT CONNECTOR - The present invention provides an insulation displacement connector that is suitable for the tool-less connection of wires of various gages. The combination of channels having a reduction in effective diameter and blades having various gaps restricts the insertion of the wires such that an appropriately-sized pair of blades can pierce the insulation to contact the metallic core of each wire. Because of this configuration, the wire connector does not require excessive force to bite down on the wires. Because a large force is not required, the insulation displacement connector can be finger operated and no separate tool is necessary.12-11-2008
20090017660Water Resistant Push-In Connector - A water resistant push-in wire connector provides an electrical connection for two or more wires spliced together in a wet or underground location. The connector includes a non-conductive housing having a cavity filled with a water insoluble, non-conductive substance and a self-engaging contact clamp. The substance is sufficiently viscous such that it does not flow out of a series of wire entry holes extending through the housing and into the cavity, and the wires help seal the substance from flowing out of the connector.01-15-2009
20090072004POWERED INSULATED STAPLE GUN - A device for applying insulated fasteners to a substrate is disclosed. The device comprises a housing that includes a fastener recess and an ejection recess, and the fastener recess is configured to accommodate insulated fasteners. The device further comprises a powered actuator that includes an ejection member that moves over a range of positions. The ejection member permits one of the insulated fasteners to enter the ejection recess in a retracted position, and the ejection member forces the one of the insulated fasteners to leave the ejection recess in an extended position. A power connector operatively connects the powered actuator to a power source to provide power to move the ejection member. A manual actuator is operatively disposed between the power source and the powered actuator to selectively provide power from the power source to the powered actuator.03-19-2009
20090156041Electrical Connector For Connection To Multiple Conductors - The present invention provides an electrical connector for connection to multiple conductors. The connector comprises a connector housing and at least two spring clamps in the housing. Each spring clamp has an open position to permit insertion of a conductor and a closed position in which the spring clamp engages the conductor to establish an electrical connection therewith. The connector further comprises a cam shaft having at least two axially spaced cam positions thereon. One of the cam positions is aligned with each spring clamp to open the spring clamps when the cam shaft is turned to an open position and to allow the spring clamps to close when the cam shaft is turned to a closed position. The connector further comprises a lever on said cam shaft for turning the cam shaft between the open and closed positions. The connector further comprises passageways in the connector housing, one for each spring clamp, leading a conductor inserted into the passageway into the corresponding spring clamp when the spring clamp is in the open position.06-18-2009
20090212785Receptacle Tester with Text Display - A tester is disclosed for testing a wiring state of a live electrical receptacle outlet. The tester comprises a body having a display located thereon and a plug extending from the body. The display is configured to selectively provide a text indicator. When the plug of the tester is received in the electrical outlet, the display indicates the wiring state of the electrical outlet.08-27-2009
20100071436Data Comm Installer Tool - A cable terminal installer tool comprises a data comm jack terminal crimper having a pair of handles at one end and a crimper head at another end for installing data comm jack terminals on the ends of cables. The crimper head is operated by the handles to crimp the terminals onto wire ends of a cable. The tool further comprises a line tester including a transmitter and a receiver for testing an assembled data comm cable having jack terminals at opposite ends. At least one of the transmitter and receiver is detachable from the handles.03-25-2010
20100201144Cable Clasp - A cable clasp comprises a tail including an engagement face. The cable clasp further comprises a head including a handle that connects to the tail and defines a mouth opening into which the tail is movable. The cable clasp is biased towards a closed-loop position in which at least a portion of the tail is disposed in the mouth opening. The head further includes a lock having a catch engageable with the engagement face in a lock position to: 1) prevent motion of the tail relative to the head in a first direction, and 2) permit motion of the tail relative to the head in a second direction opposite the first direction by sliding the catch over the engagement face. The catch and the engagement face are also disengageable in a release position to permit motion of the tail relative to the head in both the first and second directions.08-12-2010
20100212117Compostable Tie - A compostable tie is disclosed. In some forms, the tie may have an aperture at the tail end sized and shaped to facilitate insertion of the tail into the head and use of the tie.08-26-2010
20100327242Powered Cable Puller - An apparatus for pulling a cable through a conduit includes a frame that has a base. The apparatus further includes a boom that has at least one roller configured to guide a rope connected to the cable along the boom. The boom also includes a main boom pivotally connected to the base and an upper boom pivotally connected to the main boom. A drive unit connects to the boom and includes a rotatable spool configured to pull the rope along the boom. The apparatus further includes a lift pivotally connected to the frame and the boom. The lift is operable to move the boom relative to the frame.12-30-2010
