DUAL GENERATOR SINGLE POWER SOURCE FOR TANDEM POOL AND SPA - A sanitizer generation system supplies power to a first and a second sanitizer generator. Each of the sanitizer generators is connected to a body of water by a circulation system. The system includes a power supply and a control system connected to the power supply and the sanitizer generators. The control system selectively delivers electric current from the power supply to the first and second sanitizer generators. | 10-22-2009
CONTROL OF HARD WATER SCALING IN ELECTROCHEMICAL CELLS - A threshold agent composition and methods of using the same to produce hypochlorite and other effluent streams from an electrochemical cell without the detrimental effects of hard water scaling are disclosed. The invention further discloses use of chemistries to prevent hard water scale formation in various electrochemical cells to enhance cell longevity without decreasing chlorine, hypochlorite or other effluent production. | 07-14-2011

METHODS AND SYSTEMS FOR FABRICATING OPTICAL FILMS HAVING SUPERIMPOSED FEATURES - An approach for making a master tool used to fabricate optical films involves cutting a series of base structures. Modifying features are superimposed with the base structures, producing abruptly discontinuous variations in the shape of the base structures. Diffraction elements may be formed in one or both of the base structures and the modifying features. The modifying features can be formed by moving the cutting tool in the x-direction, in the z-direction, or along a trajectory having both an x component and a z component. | 07-28-2011
LIGHT DIRECTING FILM AND METHOD FOR MAKING THE SAME - A light directing film includes a structured major surface with a plurality of microstructures extending along a first direction. Each microstructure has a first region and a second region different from the first region, a substantially constant height in the first region and a non-constant maximum height in the second region greater than the substantially constant height in the first region, and a same lateral cross sectional shape in the first region and the second region. | 08-18-2011

LIGHT DIRECTING FILM - A light directing film and an optical system incorporating same are disclosed. The light directing film includes a first major surface and a microstructured second major surface. The microstructured second major surface has at least two periodic microstructured patterns. The first periodic pattern is arranged along a first direction. The second periodic pattern is arranged along a second direction different from the first direction. | 08-18-2011

CUSTOMIZABLE POWER-ON RESET CIRCUIT BASED ON CRITICAL CIRCUIT COUNTERPARTS - A power-on-reset circuit (POR) for integrated circuits that detects the minimum power levels needed to operate the most critical circuit(s) reliably. The circuit is implemented in a customized POR built into a custom IC, and emulates the critical circuit transistors in the custom IC using mimicking counterparts which are similarly affected by changes in temperature and process variations as the main circuit components. The mimicking counterparts may have smaller dimensions, to draw less current but still emulate the characteristics of the main working circuit components. Each critical sub-circuit of the main circuit may have a mimicking POR, and the multiple PORs may have their outputs combined by logic so that subtle failure modes can be modeled in the POR. The POR allows operation of the main circuit to continue at the lowest possible voltage levels while reducing the risk of unexpected results or undetected non-catastrophic failures. The POR also implements safety margins for the operation of the main circuit and tracks process sensitivity. | 10-02-2008

Aerodynamic Positioning Device - The gathering, conveyance, and assembly of printed material utilizing one or more aerodynamic positioning devices in conjunction with binding machinery is disclosed. The aerodynamic positioning device utilizes controlled fluid flow via a series of discretely spaced jets that create a low pressure region beneath a signature dropping from an adjacent feeder. The aerodynamic positioning device allows the binding machinery to operate at high speeds with lightweight and unbalanced signatures while maintaining high-quality production with reduced paper jams. | 07-23-2009
