20150293070 | ON-SITE KIT FOR ANALYSIS OF DISINFECTANT BYPRODUCTS SPECIES AND AMOUNTS THEREOF IN DRINKING WATER SUPPLIES - The present invention relates to the provision of a portable kit that permits reliable and quantifiable analysis of trihaloamethanes and haloacetic acids within drinking water samples utilizing a hand-held (portable) fluorescing detection instrument for simultaneous measurements of such species. With the necessity to chlorinate drinking water to remove harmful bacteria and other potential toxins, trihalomethane and haloacetic acid byproducts are generated during such a disinfecting procedure that may harm humans after consumption as well due to highly suspect carcinogenicity. A reliable manner of measuring such drinking water supplies for such disinfectant byproduct levels is highly desirable, particularly through the utilization of a relatively inexpensive analytical instrument for such a purpose. The inventive kit-based analytical method of the invention has been found to be nearly as reliable as source measuring methods for the same purpose, providing a relatively quick measuring method that may be undertaken at any drinking water source location. | 10-15-2015 |

20110043831 | METHOD AND SYSTEM FOR AUTOMATICALLY REDUCING PAGE COUNT IN A DOCUMENT PRINTING PROCESS - A system automatically determines whether to shrink a document to be printed by determining whether various parameters of the final page of the document satisfy certain criteria. If so, the system may automatically shrink the document by using a shrink-to-fit process and/or by automatically reducing the font size of some or all content in the document. | 02-24-2011 |
20110043846 | METHOD AND SYSTEM FOR REDUCING MATERIALS USAGE ASSOCIATED WITH DOCUMENT PRINTING - A system for performing a print job request includes a processor, a printing device, and a computer-readable storage medium in communication with the processor. The computer-readable storage medium includes one or more programming instructions for receiving a print job request having a first set of one or more printing parameters, identifying a final page of the print job request, determining a measurement for the final page through the processor, determining a threshold measurement through the processor based on a second set of one or more printing parameters, determining through the processor whether to remove the final page from the print job request based on the measurement and the threshold measurement, removing the final page from the print job request in response, and performing the print job request through the printing device to yield a printed document. The print job request pertains to information displayed on a web site. | 02-24-2011 |
20120099140 | PRINTER WITH AUDIBLE SIGNAL - Methods and systems begin when a printing device receives a print job. The methods and systems identify a document type within the print job using a processor of the printing device. The methods and systems also determine if the document type requires an audible alarm using the processor. The methods and systems print the print job using a printing engine of the printing device. If the document type requires the audible alarm, the methods and systems produce an audible alarm using a speaker of the printing device after the printing is complete. | 04-26-2012 |
